Fantastic sushi! I reckon this is the best little take-away sushi place in the cbd. Nice variety of flavours and options, inc brown rice sushi, soft-shelled crab, tempura vege, flash-grilled salmon plus usual California rolls and teriyaki. The rolls are packed with filling and not just rice. They also have egg rolls! OMG! So good. Get in after 4pm for all sushi discounted to $ 4. A good sign that everything is made fresh again the next day. The main meals are also tasty, but not the best Japanese. Although they are a good size I find them a bit greasy, more like Cantonese-style. I still eat it though. Sushi here is the winner!

A definitely favourite for quick, cheap and cheerful Japanese food among office workers. Although there is limited English capabilities by the staff, service is prompt and you can be out the door in 3 minutes. The sushi is fresh and the bento’s are hot. I have enjoyed the crispy chicken rice paper rolls, salmon sushi rolls and chicken katsu don which are always readily available. It isn’t the best Japanese I have had, but for the convenient location to work, the price and consistency of food, it certainly hits the stop and keeps the wallet happy.

Although the girl behind the counter couldn’t speak much English this place is great. It is probably the cheapest sushi that you will find in the city that isn’t poison. You can get beautiful crunchy chicken katsu half rolls for just $ 3 and boxes of sushi 3 pieces for $ 3 and 6 piece for $ 5 of every variety. They also provide like every other Japanese eatery the hot meal in the to-go boxes. Except at King Star sushi expect to pay half the price as the meals are only $ 5 and really tasty. The sauces are super tasty and thick and the servings are just the right size.
