Their haircuts may be great but their«vibe» seems a bit off. My partner gets his hair cut here fairly regularly as its quite close to his work, however we had an event to attend whilst on our Christmas Break so made an appointment to head into the city on our way in order for him to get tidied up. As we walked into the reception after parking up, the only thing said was«Your partner will be done in about an hour, you can collect him then.» Not wanting to walk around the city by myself, I advised«Oh thats ok, I’ll just wait!». The lady then looked me up and down and glanced sideways to the other standing behind the counter, who took this as his cue to join in with«um, we dont have anywhere for you to wait, sorry.» followed by «perhaps u can try the café up the road». Needless to say the whole tone felt quite upsetting and rude, especially considering my partner told me afterwards they have a waiting lounge(I even wouldnt have minded if I just stood around in the reception to be honest). I just went back and waited in the car after being«told my place». Was not impressed.

I’ve been to Guy’s Grooming a few times over the past 12 months and I am still a bit unsure about it all, although I keep going back there. To elaborate: I just hate spending $ 60 on getting my hair cut, but I can’t find anyone else that consistently does as good a job as these guys do. Each time I have been there I have had someone different and they’re all fantastic, not only in actually cutting my hair but also giving suggestions to make it look better for longer, while keeping in line with what I have asked for. The skill level of the staff is much higher than your local shopping centre hair cut and this is why, despite the cost being higher than what I would pay elsewhere, I keep finding myself making an appointment when I need my hair cut. By far and away the best hair cuts I have ever had in Perth.

Started here with a gift voucher from the kids. Pedicure? Me? Seriously… But actually its pretty neat. Now just haircuts with the occasional pedicure.(Charlotte) Occasionally. Honestly. And the haircuts(Angelina) are terrific. OK so the scalp massage is pretty cool too, but its really just the haircut. Honestly. Do yourself a favour…

I had my hair cut here 22 days ago, it’s still looking good. The advice that I was given was awesome. It’s enabled me to keep my hair looking barber fresh for much longer than normal. The treatment in Guys Grooming was really brilliant. I was made to feel very comfortable. I’d give 5 stars, but I’m Scottish, so paying $ 60 for a haircut feels unnatural. I now need to go back some time soon and get another haircut and maybe some other treatment…

Guys Grooming theme is simple«man cave» all the décor is aimed that way; TV’s at each station, bar in the waiting lounge, etc. Of course they offer all the traditional services, hair cutting /styling, straight blade razor sharing, deep tissue sports massage and body detailing. You will pay that little bit extra, but you get treated as a valued customer, are offered your choice of hot or cold beverages and get invited to charity poker nights.

This place was never going to be for me. It breeds quite a blokey culture with its waiting room and stocked-up bar fridge, and private lockers to store your goods. It’s fun, sure, and I reckon plenty of Terrace men would eat this shit up. But I just felt a bit unhinged by the experience, it was far removed from the«chilled-out» state they were trying to put me in. That aside, Guys Grooming do a pretty mean haircut. The hairdressers here must be the top of their game or something because on both occasions I’ve been, both ladies did a fine job. Neat, stylish, but not too cutting edge, excuse the pun. Conversely, I did get my back waxed here once and vowed never to go back because my skin was red, raw and raised for weeks. I think the service is overpriced — 55 bucks or thereabouts for a «style-cut», 50 for the wax. They do a good job and treat you like a king which is nice, but I’m not convinced the price you pay is worth it. If you got the cash though, and let’s face it plenty of men in Perth these days seem to, go get yourself plucked, shaped and styled like a seal.
