Reasonably priced and delicious. Crowd can be sketchy but service was honest and friendly.

CITYKEBABS mmmm! Love love loveeeeeeeeeeee this place! It just so happens it is right next door to my favorite club/bar Amps. I believe City Kebabs is a fav to a lot of other people, especially on a Friday and Saturday night as it is always so crowded! The kebabs are always delicious and for the amount of people coming to this store, the food is cooked in a timely manner.

Kebabs are the staple late-night fare after a hard night in a club — or perhaps during a break between clubs. No matter how drunk I am, my tastebuds still exist — alcohol does not wipe them out completely. No matter how drunk I am, this place is still terrible. The meat is rubbery and the chips look as though they’ve been sitting in oil for a week.

Love it! Not cos of the food. The food is okay. But, location, location, location, baby! Sometimes I don’t go out for a really long time and then I get horrid withdrawal symptoms. The only thing that will fix my low mood and lack lustre outlook is a night out of high energy, smiles and laughter in my very own tinsel town, Perth. It was on such a night that I struck City Kebabs. It was relatively early and I wasn’t drunk, but I felt drunk. Drunk on the fun and fancy footwork my friend had just performed in a nearby night club. With joyful glee in my stride, I neared City Kebabs and decided then and there that myself and my friend should reward our dancing duo efforts with a wholesome kebab. The kebab was pretty nice and definitely filled a void in my stomach. The outstanding ambience filled a void in my heart. I love going out in the evening and soaking up the dark yet sparkling nocturnal energy. Crazy clubbers paraded past, music pulsed around me and the ambience was totally invigorating. Thank you, City Kebabs, for filling a void in my stomach and soul.

Another food outlet on Murray street where I have no idea what the product tastes like sober, or if its even open in daylight. Situated right next to Amplifier/Capitol and opposite Carnegies it gets a pounding in the late evening/early morning of the weekend. As far as the kebabs go they are solid, if not spectacular, but the chips are really nice. The service is pretty efficient although maybe a microphone could come in handy to hear order numbers because several times i have missed the call amongst the street noise. Once again though could be the booze.

I want to be able to write a fluid, coherent review about this place. I really do. Unfortunately, I have only sampled their wares on my way home from having too many beers… or shots… or, well whatever. I’d like to think I am enough of an avid cuisine enthusiast that even the intoxicated me knows what tastes good, and this place does kebabs right. Tasty, cheap and right where you want them to be! Hey, the staff still serve me after absent mindedly walking out with a bottle of water from the fridge, so they must be pretty nice too.

This joint, like most kebab shops makes its main trade from those who’ve had a few on a Friday or Saturday night, mostly those leaving Amps or Carnegies. Don’t let that fool you in to thinking this is only a good eating establishment once you’ve downed a pint or two. Sampling from this kebab shop during working hours will make you a believer. Many call City Kebabs the best in town. The kebabs are so heralded and the owner so charismatic that a group of patrons even made up a Myspace page for him back in the day and it gained a huge following overnight. Other fast food like burgers and chips are also available.

God bless the geniuses who decided to put this kebab store smack bang in the middle of the city’s(admittedly modest) nightlife district. Next door to Amplifier Bar and Capitol, a quick stroll down the street from Republic, opposite and two blocks left from Carnegies, and an easy five-minute walk from the Boheme, Elephant and Wheelbarrow and Aviary, City Kebabs has got your 11pm, 1am, and 3:30am alcohol-induced feeds completely covered. Okay, so I’d much prefer Vegemite on toast after I’ve been out drinking these days, but back in my youth this place was a saviour. I have such fond memories stumbling out of Amplifier straight to the bright fluoro lights that was this eatery. Obviously I can’t legitimately comment on the quality of the kebabs here(not exactly a factor at this time of the night), but I do recall having to wait for a reeeeeally long time(which may or may not have been that long in a more sober state) for the grub. Does the trick, though.
