I’ve learnt to not expect much from food court Indian food, so Thali’s was a pleasant surprise. Situated in the Carillon City food court, Thali’s offers a welcome change to Hungry Jacks or Red Rooster. They have a range of meat and vegetable curries, naan bread, samosas and salad. And the price is right, too. A small curry and rice is $ 7, and more than enough to fill you up. The food is traditional and good quality, and the staff are very accommodating. For example, if you are, say, a bit of a mad hippie and love butter chicken but feel slightly evil eating meat, the ladies at Thali have no problem only giving you the sauce — and then charging less for the privilege. I usually grab myself a small butter chicken(minus the chicken) and rice for lunch for $ 5.
