First time going to the outdoor movie and was impressed. The movie started at 8pm and we were there at 7pm. All the bean bags had already been reserved with people sitting in them. But plenty of seats left. So I put my cardigan over two seats to reserve them and noticed a spare seat in between. There was a blanket covering three seats. So they were reserved too Ordered a pizza and got a cider. It was a warm night was impressed when I saw there there was free drinking water available with cups. Took a seat and ate the pizza and had our drinks. Sat back down and met the people we were sitting next too. Seemed nice to sit next to the movie with. They got up and left. A lady came passed and took the seats that were reserved and moved there blanket, asked me where they were and I said they got up for a few minutes. She said movie is about to start not my issue. Later Her partner arrived. Then 5 minutes later the group of three came back. There was a scene and the lady knocked over the bottle of wine under the seat. What was good is the security and manger of the night came over and told them to move out as people were watching the movie. Must say people if you go to a movie and seats are reserved don’t move people’s things. It makes it very uncomfortable for people sitting around you.

Rooftop movies are movies literally broadcasted from a large screen on the rooftop of a Carpark on roe st Northbridge. The movies are easy to book online for $ 15 and you can even book your parking at the same time for a reduced price. An amazing deal especially since you would pay around 20 bucks at events or hoyts cinemas. The movies being shown are the latest blockbusters — ie I watched the martian and it is still showing at the large chain cinemas and only released a few weeks ago. You can bring your own food, drinks and blanket. You can also hire blankets for $ 10. There is a bar upstairs and you can get pizza literally delivered to your seat by dough pizza. Yumm. Chairs include a combination of bean bags and beach chairs for those who want to sit higher. Doors open at 6 so you can chill with food and alcohol until the movie starts. Also while you’re up there don’t forget that you’re on top of the city. So great place for the amateur photographers to get their dslrs and tripods out for some night city photos. I watched the martian last night in my comfy high chair with a blanked wrapped around my feet as it was freezing and windy last night(almost felt like I was on mars). Movie didn’t start promptly and there were a few ads showcasing Perth businesses beforehand. Really enjoyed the movie as the plot was different to most space movies and a lot of events in the movie are scientifically feasible(ie creating water on mars and growing potatoes :)). I liked the science aspects of the movie. #nerdalert Love love the venue. Staff are über friendly. Definitely an experience I recommend. Tip — do not forget your photo id.

Wow I’m certainly kicking myself… I don’t know why it’s taken me this long to experience this awesome place! I’ve now been there twice in one week and can’t wait to go back! My first time here was for the Fringe Festival event — Hot Dub Time Machine. Amazing Summer night with 3 hours of non stop music and dancing with friends under the stars. Perfect location for a dance party with lots of room to move, great view and a nice cool breeze. The mojitos were going down a treat too. Love the funky caravans serving drinks and food. We were also there for the Perth Underground Film Festival(PUFF) opening night. Underground but showing on the rooftop, haha! I do love my zombie movies so had to go and check out this festival. Thoroughly enjoyed my bourbon and maltesers on the comfy beanbags while watching this Aussie zombie flick. Hope to check out a few more movies before the season is over :)

After putting it on my Pucket list(Perth bucket list) last year I finally went and I’m a fan! The view up there is beautiful and so is the set up. You can choose from comfy bean bags or deck chairs, both being ideal for groups! There a food options from Dough Pizza as well as a Candy Bar! The Candy Bar and an actual Bar are set up in vintage caravans– very cute! The wine on offer is from Howling Woods and there’s Little Creatures too! It’s strictly non BYO(don’t even try they pat down your bags!) However you can bring your own food/platters etc. As It’s situated on top of the Rowe Street carpark it makes parking pretty easy. HOWEVER getting out afterwards is a bit of a drag with a backlog of cars exiting at the same time. Next time i would look into different parking options. OHANDTHEBARISCASHONLY!

My first time at rooftop movies has me hooked! I can’t think of a better way to enjoy a chilled out summers night than laying back on a beanbag, on a rooftop, drink in hand, overlooking the city and enjoying a great movie. The program of movies this year is excellent with a diverse mix of new releases and old favourites and there is something to cater for every taste. Make sure you get in a little early to secure your spot on one of those beanbags and the bar is open from 6pm serving beer, wine and spirits. We chose not to order the pizza as it was pretty expensive and you can BYO food(no alcohol) to the venue. The popcorn was super good here but chocoholics will also want to BYO as there isn’t much at the candy bar, especially if you want some snacks to share. Don’t forget the blankets and a jacket too as it did get a bit chilly! I will defiantly be catching a few more movies here before the season ends as it really is a great way to spend the evening.

Dough pizza at the rooftop cinema sounded a great idea pre-movie… How wrong was I, ordered«The Parma» $ 24, fries & arancini balls. The girl said it would be 15 minutes, so after 15 minutes I returned to pick up my food. Pizza, fries & the arancini balks all there waiting for me… All the food was cold so was probably ready after more like 10 minutes. Opened the pizza box to find it had no toppings? Went back to say I had been given the wrong pizza. The girl quickly three some Parma ham on top along with shrivelled up(not fresh) rocket and some shavings of cheese and handed it back to me. No cooking the new toppings was even thought about? If it wasn’t for the fact i was hungry and the film was starting I would have demanded a fresh cooked pizza. I’ve had pizza from Dominos that are a million times better!!! If your thinking about the pizza best pick one up on the way to the cinema…

A great summer evening activity. Wide selection of movies both recent release, classics, and oldies but goodies. They offer a candy bar, alcohol bar, and dough pizzas up on the rooftop but you can also BYO food so you can choose what you fancy from the selection of good takeaways in northbridge. Be sure to take warm clothes as it does get chilly once the suns gone down.

OMG. … so many of my favorite things all coming together… movies, views of Perth, booze and popcorn!!! Rooftop movies is an activity that highlights how awesome Perth is becoming… The concept is brilliantly executed… The teams is friendly and hypo.. and venue is fantastic and comfy!!! Can bring your own food, which is great considering you can go into Northbridge and get take out and bring it up… The choice of movies is a mix of new stuff and old school cult… tonight I educated my partner in the pleasure of Scarface(on a side note… how can I be engagrd to someone who hasn’t seen Al pacino at his best)!!! What also is nice about the setting is the chairs… unlike many outdoor cinemas where you on the ground, at the rooftop have low seating provided… Two things to remember however… bring cash for booze and pop corn.. Also can be a tad breezy so i blanket is a good idea!!!

Cant believe it’s taken me this long to come and visit this place! Sitting in the comfy chairs watching a movie, taking in the breathtaking views of the city and the sunset… WOW! I’m in love with everything about this place, the way they’ve decorated the place with all the cute props, the attention to detail and quirky candy bar/drinks bar make this place seem like your in another world. Props to whoever came up with this idea for Perth — Two thumbs up!

Beautiful open air movie theatre on top of a car park in northbridge Average ticket prices are $ 13 which is good value & they play a mix of new releases and old cult favourites. If you sign up online they also run regular competitions to win free tickets. Also try to buy your tickets early as the more popular films to tend to sell out. You can order pizza from dough to be delivered to the venue or bring up your own food. There is also a bar & candy bar up there inside cute little retro caravans. Perfect place for a date night with views across the city &loads of food & drink options in the area for before & after the film. I love this place.

YAYYY rooftop movies! Such a great idea watching movies under the stars. Myself and fellow Unilocaler, Alexandra H came here last night to watch a movie called ‘Heathers’ and this would be around the fourth time I have been here. These movies are located on the roof of one of the City of Perth car parks in Northbridge. There is a huge projection screen on shipping crates, deck chairs to relax in, old style caravans to buy your food and drinks and flamingos! The movie usually start at 8pm but you can go I believe as early as 6pm to have a drink and food, one of which on offer is pizza which is catered from an Italian restaurant below. They usually have some entertainment before hand too. The movies are only $ 13.00 a ticket which is what tickets to cinema chains usually cost on a cheap night so defiantly value for money! Last night they ran out of popcorn which is my absolute fav movie snack so this was my only annoyance. And they kept the sign up saying the popcorn was still available even though it wasn’t grrrr! Apart from that though, I had an excellent time and defiantly recommend trying out this venue for a movie at least once!

What’s not to love? Why has it taken me so long? A fabulous diverse array of silver screen delights, a cheap ticket, even cheaper parking at $ 8.50 with a popcorn & soft drink, a wonderful ambience and our pretty Perth skyline! All wonderful but peripheral I suppose to the main event — the show! Obviously the sound quality is not as fab as your surround sound indoor cinema but it’s actually pretty good! The pluses outweigh this one less than perfect attribute. In my humble opinion. See y’all here next year!

Rooftop Movies is one of those places that makes you go «Oh, little Perth, you’re finally growing up! *sniff*». Other reviewers have adequately explained the awesomeness of this flamingoed, deckchaired, astroturfed chill out zone. BYO food, great staff, blanket hire, comfy deck chairs and a truly awesome movie selection. What’s not to love?

You’ll have to take a minute to catch your breath when you arrive via the lift to the Rooftop Movies, the view is that spectacular. Stroll in between the palm trees and along the astro turf to grab a drink or your pre-ordered pizza from one of the brightly painted retro caravans. Hang out before the film starts and take in the beauty of the city skyline, then head to your deckchair for the main event. It’s such a unique experience you’ll want to visit as many times as you can throughout the season.

Had a wonderful experience at Rooftop Movies!!! Just went w friends for the first time and it was a hoot! The décor is fresh and inviting w cute little flamingos everywhere! I love all the caravans up there and the fake grass… Not to mention the amazing view of our beautiful city :) The drinks are great… You can get a pipsqueak cider for $ 7. Popcorn $ 4… Fudge(which they had run out of — boo!!) and many other assorted goodies :) Unless you’re driving like my friend was — your popcorn is FREE; let the people know this when you enter and they give you a wristband! Unlimited popcorn! They have a DJ playing some tunes before the movies which is great and really sets the relaxing atmosphere. The chairs are comfy and easy to relax in and the screen and sound is perfect :) A few things to note… Take a blanket! It’s a little chilly up there even in October weather :) There’s exhaust fumes coming up around 9 from the restaurants below so it can smell like an off steakhouse. My only major issue is the pre-ordered pizzas. These pizzas come from Valentino’s across the road. Prices start from $ 18 for a margherita… Which is ridiculous! Ours just arrived when we went to collect it and it was COLD! Blegh. Dry, cold and disappointing. Don’t bother with the pizzas — grab something before hand and just have snacks up there… Apart from the pizza we all had a great time and will def be going again soon!

I loved it. Went to Casablanca on the first Sunday it was open. It was great. Nice atmosphere before hand with the jazz band. Good catchup spot. The retro movie choices are great, if only I had the $ and availability to see them all. The hassle free park and prepay option made it very convenient. The part I didn’t like was the«hidden» online booking fees, and it is a fee per ticket. Also got caught out on the parking, entered 2 minutes before 6pm, that cost $ 2!, wasn’t impressed.

I think I am one step closer to receiving my hipster-badge after attending a Perth Rooftop Movie. The creator/collaborators of this venue really had such aspirations that the sky was truly the limit. People all over the world have«pinned» this venue in pinterest under their«Travel» folder or «Where they want to go» should they ever be in Perth. It’s that cool, it has made pinterest. Lucky us, this starry-skied cinema is in our backyard… well, if you live in Northbridge. The venue is on the rooftop of the old IMAX building. There are two ways to enter, one is through the car-park garage(City of Perth Roe Street Carpark, 68 Roe Street, Northbridge) or there is pedestrian access from James Street just opposite the Northbridge Piazza screen. Satisfying cult classic flicks and the niche audience that comes along with it, Rooftop Movies has it sorted. The venue hosts films from the«Brat Pack» era and the other films that changed your youth(think Dirty Dancing). Beer, wine, sodas, candy and you can even pre-order delivery of Valentino’s pizza($ 18.30), but you have to order before 4:30 p.m. The popcorn was so good, I regretted not going with the largest box. Bulmers Wednesdays features local comedians prior to the show and that’s where it got a bit uncomfortable. I showed up an hour and a half prior to the start of the movie to watch a comedian so awkward I left and went to the Dome. The few forced laughs in the audience wasn’t redeeming enough to stay. The venue is small, along with the screen. If you are looking to see high-definition and surround-sound, this venue isn’t for you. Movies sell out fast and so do prime seating if you aren’t there early. The chairs aren’t the most comfortable seating. For the petite ladies out there, though, it is nice to not stare into the back of an ogre’s head the whole movie. And, if you are wanting to get all warm and snugly with your someone special, this venue isn’t for you. But, maybe, just maybe, suggesting a venue this cool for a date could open up possibilities later on. It doesn’t hurt if Swayze is on the screen either.

Outdoor cinema with a difference. When I think of an outdoor cinema in Australia I always imagine green grass and bean bags or deck chairs with cheese platters. This one is a little different, situated on top of a carpark with a vista overlooking Perths night-time cityscape. If you get here on time to catch the sunset aswell, it makes for a brilliant night out. This year they are showing a variety of movies from old classics like Blazing Saddles to new zombie features. The vibe is fabulous with a caravan bar area and a floor of astro turf. It is retro and kitch, I love it. Only for the fact that winter in Perth can get quite cold, I wish this cinema could stay open all year around, especially with $ 12 presale tickets. My only gripe is the charges for parking, I would imagine that because it is based in a car park that free parking would and should be offered but then again this is Perth and not renowned for being expensive for no reason.
