The stereotypical karaōke bar… you pay by the hour for a private room and have to buy some food but it’s BYO. The private rooms come in a range of sizes to suit a varitey of groups. The play list is long and mixed with a song to suit everyone in their endeavours to sing loud drunked renditions of their favourite rock and pop songs.

This is one of those places we always seem to end up at! Good song selection but like all karaōke joints I wish they would add new songs more often. Rooms are a variety of sizes and are nicely fit out. Sound is good. A little expensive and if you BYO they make you order food(though their chicken nuggets are pretty damn tasty but a rip-off at $ 15!). Will no doubt visit many more times!

This is a great little private karaōke bar that charges for booths by the hour. It’s a tad expensive from what I recall and although you can BYO, I believe the deal is that you have to purchase food to accompany it. And the offerings are pretty awful(we had packet wedges I distinctly remember). That said, the song selection is brilliant and the rooms are fun and cater to a pretty large number. I have this ridiculous memory stumbling into Crown with just one other friend and serenading each other for hours. The good times never seemed so good.

I’m not going to lie, the best way to end a hen’s party was with all girls karaōke. We busted out the old school tunes and sang our hearts out to the Spice Girls, Mariah, Britney, Shania, and Beyonce. When I mentioned karaōke to the girls, there was skepticism, but Crown offers you a private room(at an hourly rate), and while its not soundproof, you can’t see into the rooms so you can sing as badly(and we did) as you like with no shame. It was great fun and we found the time went all too quickly and given the choice we could’ve stayed there all night. Although I was already struggling to find my voice in the morning! If you are full of energy and in the city one night, I’d recommend heading here, it is an insane amount of fun!

If my friends were to guess my whereabouts on a Friday night they would no doubt put all their money on a karaōke bar. I love giving heart wrenching renditions of songs like Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’ or Outkast’s ‘Behold a Lady’ to name a couple. Crown Karaōke is the best karaōke bar in town, hands down. My friends and I have laid down some serious performances at this joint. You have to pay an hourly rate for the private rooms and buy food, but it’s byo so if you have enough people it’s really good value. The guys who work at Crown are really lovely and always super helpful if you need the air-con turned up because you are creating too much heat with your performance, or you need new batteries for your mic because you’ve worn down the battery from all your power thrusts etc.
