If there’s an Asian food item you’ve been searching for, the chances are that Emma’s will stock it. I’ve explored a few of the Asian groceries around town and there are some great ones but if you want a one stop shop, then this is the place. This is the shop to go to if you’re after soft fat rice noodles, sticky rice, dumplings, sauces of all descriptions and types, all varieties of tofu(from fluffy fried puffs to hard pressed) or if you’re planning to make any type of sushi from the traditional rolls to Japanese inari pockets(the delicious sweet salty beancurd skins that you stuff with sushi rice). Conveniently located near parking lots and the train station, you can load up on all your favourite Asian foods and head home to cook up a huge feast!

Emma’s Seafood Young Tofu stocks the most extensive variety of imported Taiwanese produce then any other supermarket I have found to date. I always seem to be able to find the Taiwanese products that I’m looking for that I can not find at other asian supermarkets.

Emma’s is a large Asian grocery on William Street. What sets Emma’s apart from the various other Asian groceries in Northbridge is its size and its variety of seafood. Emma’s focus is on seafood and there is seafood of various persuasions stored in their multitude of freezers. Emma’s often stocks fish such as patagonian toothfish, as well as a variety of Asian fish and shellfish. The prices are reasonable, although their store organisation, like your typical Asian grocery, leaves much to be desired. At first, it seems like items have been randomly placed, but after a few visits, a haphazard but clear organisational structure becomes evident. Emma’s is a good choice if you are looking to buy seafood not otherwise found in mainstream shops.
