The food here has a uniquely ‘fresh’ feel to it — unlike so many other Nepalese/Tibetan/Indian restaurants, the various curries we sampled really tasted like they could have been home cooked, rather than the reheated, watered down and resalted options so many other places seem to employ. Langtang is a nice, quiet restaurant, perfect for a relaxing, delicious dinner prior to heading out to elsewhere in Adelaide for the night. Don’t believe for a moment that the small serves are inadequate — the food is incredibly filling and you’ll be hard pressed to finish in a hurry!

I came here with a group of 5 on a Saturday night and it was very quiet, the wait staff were very accommodating, explaining anything we were unsure of on the menu, giving recommendations etc. We had one gluten intolerant person and one person with a seafood allergy, and they were really helpful with that, ensuring everyone had what they needed(my gluten intolerant sister was given extra rice when we all got roti) and was happy with the food. I had the Nepalese platter with the lamb curry and it was lovely. Very similar to Indian food, but with a bit of Thai mixed in, which made it fresher and lighter tasting than Indian food. I would recommend they expand their cider menu, as cider goes well with curry, but other than that, I have no complaints. I will definitely be going back!

We started our meal with some chicken and vegetarian dumplings to share. These were very tasty and nicely presented. For mains we ordered goat curry, lamb curry and vegetarian curry, as well as some naan bread each. The mains all come with rice. The food at Langtang is deceptively filling. I was a little disappointed to see the small bowl of goat curry that came out, but I couldn’t finish it all. I like to try unusual foods, hence why I ordered the goat curry, but it was lacking something. I’d probably order a vegetarian dish next time, or the butter chicken like my stomach was telling me to. We didn’t have room for dessert but the menu included delicious sounding Nepalese style dishes including rice pudding and chai panna cotta which I would have loved to try. Some other time. Mains were $ 15 – 20 each.
