The Raw Trader

Extremally expensive but it is a nice healthy option. Nothing really different (from a real healthy), raw food can be amazing but here they only have a few good options. The hot chocolate is great!

A little overpriced, but that’s okay. It was pretty good — nice place for a treat. The white hot chocolate was weird and coconut oily, but still tasty. Cakes are standard raw vegan cakes. Strong date flavor in everything.

Absolutely love this place and the staff. My boyfriend and I often treat ourselves to the different cakes and slices– the caramel slice and choc hazelnut cake being two of our favorites. The almond milk hot chocolate is to die for and the staff are always very helpful.

Raw trader is such a great hidden café perfect for those who want to have a treat prefer paleo, organic and cleaner treats.
They have beautiful almond milk with coffees and I’m yet to try something I don’t like.
Their slices are amazing and while one slice is enough sometimes I feel as though the portion sizes are a but small. I understand that they use ingredients which are not cheap but recently I had the carrot cake slice which I felt was small compared to their other slices. The slices are about $ 7 each.
I have tried peppermint, cherry ripe and hedgehog slices. I want to try the snickers but it is always sold out so it must be amazing!

Mm mm mm! Amazingly good caramel slice, great coffee and friendly staff! Its a winner if you want a treat free from bad stuff! Nice hang out!

Have started using Raw Trader for morning coffee on the way to work having got tired of having to settle for a small coffee for $ 4. So now I can get a large which I don’t mind paying a little extra for. They do an awesome single origin Ethiopian bean which coupled with great friendly service helps you ease in to the day.

Don’t for a minute think that stuffing a raw cake in your mouth is good for you. Sure, there’s no refined elements and the sugars are «natural» but let’s not forget that sugar is sugars and all that coconut is loaded with fat… creamy, delicious fat! If you must indulge then you could do worse than eating one of the delectable treats offered at The Raw Trader. They’re seriously delicious and the cute (but squishy) interior of this café is a nice spot to sit for a moment to eat your cake and sip on a tasty beverage like the kombucha or house made almond milk.
A great spot for a muesli breakfast or sweet (and pretend healthy) treat throughout the day or evening. The Raw Trader is open later in to the day, so it’s possible to swing past there after dinner for your dessert. Nice!

There should be more of these place around! Especially with the health-​conscious, sugar & dairy free, vegan, organic, paleo eaters.
You can choose from a list of refreshing juices, kombucha (which I learnt is fermented tea and contains probiotics), slices of sweet treats on display which allows you to have a tasting plate for only $ 15. Treat yourself to something sweet with feeling guilty for it!
They also make their own almond milk fresh every day which is very impressive!

Today I literally stumbled past this place by accident. I was trying to find a different café yet fate intervened and led me here! Thank you fate. How did I not know about Raw Trader before today? The raw food Gods must have known it was time.
But seriously, you HAVE to try their raw/​gluten free/​paleo friendly/​sugar free sweet delightful treats! The girl who served me noticed my bewildered expression as I tried to figure out which one of them to try — I am horrible with decisions. She said «what is your body telling you it needs?» Best piece of advice I’d heard all day. So I asked and my body said CARAMEL SLICE PLEASE. What made me even happier is that I adore caramel slice, but haven’t eaten one for what seems like an eternity since I jumped on the raw, sugar-​free, clean eating way of life. To be able to eat one with zero guilt gave me more pleasure and tasted one hundred times better than any sugary, buttery dessert I ever had before. Thank you Raw Trader. I will be back to try your almond milk…

Wow the cakes here are delicious ! Their catch phrase is ‘decadence without the guilt’ ! So right.
They are organic, vegan, vego, paleo, gluten, dairy and sugar free yet still they manager to be delicious!
I’m super impressed.
We had a cherry ripe slice and the raspberry cheese cake.
I had a fruit smoothy which was served in a jar mug. Very delicious very cool.
We also sampled their almond milk which was sublime.
Highly highly recommend Raw Trader.

Raw trader is a delicious hidden gem on the north side of the CBD. Tucked in Sutherland Street, round the corner from £1000 bend, Raw Trader is serving up gluten free, dairy free, sugar free treats. In spite of what you may think, they really are treats. There is a feeling of decadence, but without the horrible sugar crash afterwards.
My personal favourite is the snickers slice ($ 7) and the protein bar ($ 6.50). Although the prices are a bit on the steep side, but completely worth it if you want delicious cakes without the guilt factor. Plus they are actually all a good portion to share with a friend.
Raw trader also make their own almond milk onsite, and have reliably been told an almond milk hot chocolate is great.

«Raw trader» should read «raw talent» because whoever it is that is making these delicious organic cakes surely has it in abundance. While it does make me feel guilty to have desserts at 11am real solace can be found in the use of healthy ingredients like avocado, banana and a lack of sugar.

I didn’t even know there was a Sutherland street in the middle of Melbourne CBD. Tucked away here is Raw Trader. The raw, vegan and paleo dessert café.
On offer is a selection of pudding, slices ($ 6), dessert balls and cakes.
Your white coffees are served with homemade almond milk (also for sale, $ 2.50 for a 250ml bottle and $ 7.50 for a ltr)
Other drinks include housemade raw smoothies.
The café is small but welcoming, crate style decoration on the wall and there is a half wall separating you and the kitchen where the magic happens.
We tried the cherry ripe slice — must try, it has an unexpected gorgeous tang and just the right sweetness
Berry mousse — cocoa and berry goodness, light.
Green tea cake — chestnuty pestoey green teaey just. Hard. To. Explain. It’s good.
We received super friendly service, staff and the magician herself happy to explain all their goodies and offer you taste of their almond milk.
We are hooked and went home with one of those almond milk babies. Try it!
