$ 8.50 hot stone pot bibimbap? Who even does that? This place, apparently, and quite well done! It’s tasty without being too strong, at the perfect temperature so that we could eat it fairly quickly after it arrives, and the restaurant itself makes us feel like we’re dining right in Seoul(not that I’ve been there, but it doesn’t feel much like Melbourne in here!). The bar is fully stocked with varieties of Asian liquor(and some well known Western ones too of course). The dreaded«I-have-severe-dairy-allergy-is-it-safe-to-eat-here» question uttered by my boyfriend was met with high concern, but we were assured that everything is safe. Unless of course you thought egg was dairy(it isn’t). Overall, great find!

Poor food quality, rude attitude staff and carpet for a Korean BBQ place is not a good idea. You will be charged 3% for credit card payment. Not recommended.

I always eat here. I eat here alone. I eat here with friends. I eat here with people I attempt to court. You should eat here. It’s usually a pleasant ratio of people to emptiness, even on weekend evenings. I always order Bulgolgi, but my dining partners have explored other options which have all been met with approval. With BBQ orders you get about eight pickled side dishes and rice. It is consistently delicious, all the Korean sauciness is there without the oversauciness I have experienced at similar restaurants. Even if you order BBQ for one, it’s always cooked for you by one of the servers — who are a mixed bunch ranging from super shy to super smiley, all very quick and polite. The most charming this is the atmosphere — that cliché, slightly ornate and tacky mid range Asian restaurant vibe really works here. It’s not the most dazzling example of Korean restaurant dining, but this venue has a special place in my heart.

The $ 8.50 bibimbap lunch set is delicious and comes with a surprising variety of side dishes. Staff is friendly and service is quick. One of the best Korean lunch deals in the CBD.

I had the most beautifully tender, full-flavoured bulgogi. For those who don’t know, bulgogi is Korean marinated barbecued beef. And the one I had here was one of the best I’ve ever had. The cold noodles were excellent, really refreshing and make a great contrast to the blazingly fiery kimich, chili beansprout salad and melt in your mouth chili squid. Though I always avoid chili dishes, I made an exception this time and ventured out of my comfort zone. And I’m glad I did as the dishes tasted great, but my nose was dribbling all night and my tongue felt like it was dying. I would’ve loved to have more but my senses couldn’t take it. Some of the dishes we picked are usually only served during dinnertime but the chef was more than happy to make it for us that day at lunchtime. I think it was all thanks to the super nice waitress who told us she’d check whether it would be possible. The service, by the way, was also really fantastic overall.
