My pad see ewe was not the tastiest I’ve ever had though the restaurant was full of patrons on a Friday night so maybe not my favourite thai eatery but others seemed to like it.

Nice set up. The food is very nice always had pleasent meals. The massaman is to die for as is the satay entrée they serve. The service at times can seem a little rushed but still a pleasent dinning experience. Would recommend

Went here today as they had a $ 10 lunch special. I ordered the Pad Thai not the best I’ve had but ok. Nice ambience, friendly staff, only annoying thing was minimum $ 20 on eftpos so had to go and get money out! Would come back and try something else next time.

I wanted to support the first review for this restaurant because I can sometimes be a Thai food snob because its one of my favourite cuisine. Thai Garlic is my parents local as they are based in the burbs of Forestville. It has been operating for over 12 years, open 7 days a week and also has a delivery service. On weekends there outdoor dining area is thronging with masses and inside is a long length of a restaurant where I have witnessed a girls night with a table of 24 happily enjoying their child free night. BYO is convenient given their is a bottle shop a few blocks down and the food is fresh with big portions. Our usual order is the Hoy Joh, 4 little power bundles of flavour with prawn, crab and pork. We also love the Choo Chee which is the fish fillet and prawns in coconut milk and red curry paste. The takeaway or home delivery has pace and as most of my locals take up to an 1 hour to deliver I think this is one of Thai Garlic’s strength considering they must have one of the busiest kitchens on the Northern Beaches.

All Sydney Thai restaurants are the same, right? All offering the standard range of spring rolls, pad thai and fried rice? Incorrect! My very favourite thing about Thai Garlic is the different food they offer. Maybe I’m ruined by Sydney thai food, because I feel like the spicy chicken wings on offer at Thai Garlic are wildly adventurous and controversial. Writing that down just confirmed my suspicions. But anyway. The food is pretty good; generously portioned for both eat in and delivery, and a good level of spiciness — none of this«mild» chili dish for me, thanks! The service is very friendly, while the restaurant’s décor is incredibly cheesy — in short, the usual suburban Thai restaurant experience. If you’re keen to go out for dinner and have kids though, it’s a winner; you can sit at one of the outside tables and keep a watchful eye while they run around the mall. It’s also good for groups — the obliging staff are happy to shift a few tables around for you. There’s no passive aggressive eye rolling here. On a warm night, sitting outside is definitely a good choice. Having said that, the view isn’t exactly sensational — you look over to a butcher and a fish shop. But that seems to be fairly inevitable for a Thai restaurant in a Forestville shopping complex. It’s also a bit noisy at times, probably a result of the decorative wooden walls and statues.
