Absolutely amazing Asian vegan. I haven’t eaten satay chicken skewers for years and their vegan version was that good I could live off it for life. Mock duck was amazing too. Thank you so much for having a place like this for vegans and veggo’s!

Five stars for menu creativity! The options definitely went beyond average vegetarian Asian cuisine. The variety of dishes and ingredients was refreshing. Mademe K’s was certainly one of the highlights of my trip to Melbourne!

Wow — this sweet little place is the whole package. We come here to be blown away by the most flavoursome, beautifully presented Thai food, in a delightful setting with warm staff and a kind menu — many thanks Madame K. Jackie D thanks for the message — I don’t know how to respond(newbie), but it’s hard to narrow down just one favourite dish! The satays, roast not duck with pawpaw salad, and not lamb slider wraps spring to mind but all so good!

Had every intention to dine(for the first time) at the Vegie Bar(which is the rave on vegan social media) only to walk in to a veritable undergraduate haunt — jam packed and resembling more a bar fad — so backed up Brunswick street and spied Madame K’s With no brief it looked well patronised(this was a Tuesday night and it was near full) so that’s gotta mean something and it promoted vegan dishes The young waitress was trying to oblige but language skills were a barrier and experience was clearly an issue Found a place for one and I went with a small plate of Betel leaf(Miang Kham) with red quinoa, peanuts, coconut shreds topped with a sauce(vegan) — this was very nice and I thought I was onto something However the main plate — a Tofu cashew nut stir-fry with brown rice(tomorrow is an ember day and one of fasting — so time to stock up) was fairly disappointing — the veggies were average and the whole dish fairly uninspiring Overall the place was not great and I won’t bother again

Considering they packed a table of 11 of us in at the last minute(one of the downfalls of Brunswick, no one takes bookings) this place serves some amazing quality food. Service is ok but the food is a winner. Good option if u can’t get in to vegie bar across the road.

Madame K’s is a fantastic little vegetarian/Vegan restaurant on Brunswick Street. I love coming here. The staff are always friendly and the food is just incredible. I take many of my non vegetarian friends here and they always love it. There is variety and great taste! I highly recommend it. It can get quite busy, so I would recommend booking. However I just turned at 20:00 on a Friday night and got a nice window seat :) They split bills here too !! :)

I’m not vegetarian though loved the food at this place and can’t wait to go back to try more off their menu. Service was a little slow and inattentive — took us about 15 – 20 minutes for them to take our order and this is after we had asked them though they were pleasant enough.

Though I’m not normally a fan of mock-meat, Madame K’s has some damn good mock meat. Taste, texture, smell, all right on par. How on earth do they do it?! Mainly Asian inspired dishes, with lots of curries and noodles, and of course the mock-meat. I’d suggest going for a more exotic sounding dish, such as duck with fried banana, or the prawn and chicken stir-fry. The curries and noodles tend to be a tad on the non-exciting side.

Went here for a sneaky entrée while waiting for a table at Yong Green up the street. The staff were perfectly happy with that. We had a satay dish and a mock duck roll dish. Both were fresh and appetising and served promptly… in time for our call to table at the other place! They did paywave at the table too which made for a speedy exit. I would go there again for a whole meal as the menu looked good and it had a nice atmosphere.

The most disappointing vegetarian food I have ever had. I phoned ahead for a takeaway order and when I arrived 30 minutes later the kitchen hadn’t even started preparing my meal. At the time I arrived there was less than 10 people in the restaurant. When I got the food home I was extremely disappointed. The entire dish consisted of rice and unflavoured soy meat, no vegetables, no sauce. I had to make my own sauce to flavour the dish. I will not be going back and will certainly not be recommending this restaurant to friends.

I just noticed this place last night, and I think it serves as a welcome addition to Melbourne’s vegan/vegetarian scene. It has it’s base and foundation in Asian cuisine, and at least on paper the results look good. The dishes look like they have been well thought, and some like the miso soba noodles sound very tempting. They also make curries, laksa, massamans, small things to eat, soups, salads, and main dishes. You can even indulge your sweet tooth. It’s brave to see a bold vegetarian dedicated venue. I hope it pays off; as it should.

A good option for vegetarian asian. They serve a variety of asian inspired dishes, the nasi goreng is amazing as is the green curry. Great for takeaway but also quite a comfortable little restaurant for eating in.
