I’ve always been mildly suspicious/cautious of cafes and food stores that have decided to open up shop on the ground floor of a residential space. Whilst Princess Victoria occupies a retail space that came pre-designed, the staff have added old fashioned touches around the place. Using their own coffee roasts and artisan milk from st davids to make their coffee. Baguettes are freshly made on the spot; which means no pre-filled sogginess. The qaulity is also good, so it means that you won’t have to get that jaw re-assignemt surgery from dislocating your jaw with ultra chewy baguettes that are an epic battle to cut, tear or eat. It also means that you won’t have food flying all across the room as you try to eat it. The slow roast beef is fantastic and fresh, and full of flavour. There’s also little crafty touches about the place, from pointers of various charities to one off hand made greeting/christmas cards. Friendly staff with a homely non pretentious vibe and a clean eating menu.
