De Cribs

Gave this a 5 star as it is my favourite ribs in town (especially every Tuesday) haha (ps. they have buy one get the other half price on this day). I like the spicy pork ribs, the meat so tender it falls off the bone. Don’t forget to get the onion blossom! It’s so pretty n so yummy! The one thing I don’t like is their menu, they need to update it quick! The papers are all scrunched up and torned. See my photos below…

Best ribs! Tried their pork ribs with spicy sauce. Man it was so good! Tender and succulent meat basted with juicy spicy sauce that will leave your mouth watering wanting for more!
I was surprise with the size of the serving! Ordered a single serving of ribs and it came with two racks along with a good size of chips (you can choose your own sides)
Mac and cheese was amazing too. Good amount of cheese. Also orders buffalo wings but don’t recommend this as it was just average unforts.
Friendly staff, décor needs a new revamp, but for ribs this good who cares about their interior designing skills. I would certainly be back!

The food here was amazing. Though not for the light eater. The staff was very friendly as well. The ribs were great.

De cribs. De just okay.
The waterfront views are beautiful, the décor inside not so much. Like someone has just chosen random objects and put them in places. Not a theme or hint of class in sight.
On to the food. We had the squid rings first which were delectable and no one could fault the ribs, I had the warm beef salad which was quite good and reasonably priced, however, since I am the queen of desserts, this was the dish I was looking forward to the most.
This was what also disappointed the most, the crème brûlée was watery and had none of the lovely cracking shell that everyone loves, a sad slice of strawberry sat lonely and unwanted on top while the accompanying sorbet was composed of mangos and the tears of the previous diners.
I understand that this restaurant is about ribs but if you can’t do a decent dessert then why bother.
Overall De Cribs left an underwhelming impression. Will not return.

I absolutely love this place so I will try my best to be unbiased. First thing to note is the location, a beautiful waterfront in East Perth surrounded by many other great bars and eateries.
I walked in and was greeted by friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere which was much appreciated on a Friday after a long week. The menu hasn’t changed much, if at all since I have been going here, which is over a year now. I am not complaining in the slightest!
The drinks menu is pretty standard for a small restaurant and they even had specials on when I was there this time, free beer always leaves me in a good mood.
As for the food, I have never had a bad meal here. The pulled pork burger and chips is a dream. $ 19 for my favourite burger and chips combo in Perth keeps me coming back and recommending it to all I meet. Don’t try to get the salad for a side dish either, it’s hard to find a place that does chips well so you may as well indulge.
If by chance you are feeling extra hungry then by all means get the ribs (you won’t need an appetiser). It’s rare to find them this tender and decadent, I have had them a couple of times and they are consistently falling off the bone and into my heart.
I can’t speak highly enough about the love these cooks put into their simple dishes.
I have heard absolutely justified comments on the soulless nature of the décor. Sure the fit out of the interior is clumsy and the restaurant doesn’t exactly have a distinct identity, but as I take a defensive stance to ensure the longevity of my favourite rib joint, I urge customers to focus on the kind hearted servers and saliva inducing food instead.

Mmmm I had a scoopon for here so it made it great value. I probably wouldn’t come here otherwise.
The setting is nice, so close to the water but it lacks atmosphere.
The staff were really helpful at recommending the best meals. My friend ordered a burger and found it average. I would probably stick to the ribs as they is what they are most known for. They are delish! Falling of the bone.

I headed to De Cribs for a mid-​week dinner a couple of weeks ago, and it was certainly an evening of hits and misses.
Hits: Great location by the water in East Perth, friendly service, reasonably priced drinks, tasty burgers, excellent onion rings.
Misses: Really odd, mismatched décor and random wall art, not taking advantage of the gorgeous view at all, slow service, some significantly overpriced main courses.
I’m worried for this restaurant, because the things they have right make me want it to survive, but the things they have wrong make me concerned that it won’t. If they can decide that they’re a casual family restaurant and get their pricing right or that they’re a $ 40 main course restaurant and get their décor and service right, they’ll do OK. Unfortunately in the mean time I won’t be rushing to return.
