The breakfast here was average. I had the traditional breakfast with ham, bacon, mushroom, etc. Coffee was decent, not enough coffee flavor even for a flat white for some reason. I might come again to try different menu.

When a place like Spoon has a few of its delis spread across Brisbane, you expect the quality to be exceptional. I’m a little sorry to say I was slightly disappointed with their coffee in particular. I mean, I get that managing a few stores means everything runs as if it were on a conveyor belt rather than giving the personal touches of smaller cafes, but I rather thought fantastic coffee was a speciality of Spoon’s. I’m not hard to please when it comes to coffee, but I’d like to say I know an excellent blend when I taste one. The one I received at Spoon at East Brisbane was a little on the weak and watery side. Up your game a bit guys! And that’s said with the best intentions, promise. I do have to say however, that I was rather satisfied with their breakfast. Fresh avo and sourdough and some pretty decent eggs. The atmosphere is not to go unmentioned either, because even though it’s situated along the sometimes hectic Lytton Road, Spoon is nestled in enough to its centre to give a positive vibe. There’s a pleasant outdoor area where you can enjoy your breakfast, and there’s also an indoor area complete with sinking couches for booth enthusiasts like myself. It’s a busy place so they know how to take your order fairly quickly, and it seems very popular for take-away coffee, even during a quiet period. Overall, I did enjoy my eating experience here, but I won’t give them kudos for their coffee just yet.
