Food is really good but not great. It seems y he original management and chefs have changed an you can tell on the execution. Service is the biggest dissapointment. .they try but they just dont speak English well enough and it causes problems. Good for a meal with friends

Brand new(Sept 2014) in Concord, NSW area is this little asian fusion restaurant with a cocktail bar. Celebrity Chef and Co-owner of the famous Red Lantern restaurants, Mark Jensen, has been collaborating with the team at Wok Chow to get this new modern Chinese restaurant up and running. We arrived early for a drink or two and were met at the door instantly by(it turned out) the bartender — Johnny. He was friendly and eager to please. we both enjoyed a cocktail whilst talking to the manager Phil, all the while making us feel welcome. We then made our way to our table. The tables set up is a little odd and mismatched. There are 3 booths that could maybe hold 4 people, then 3 large tables with a cooking plate in the middle of them designed for groups of maybe 6 or more, the rest of the«regular» tables are scattered about right in the entranceway. I suggest booking ahead and specifying where you want to sit. Anyhoo, we were lucky enough to get a booth. So yay! we ordered a bunch of entrees and then a couple of mains. All the food was delicious and full of flavour with the exception of the stir fried eye fillet with ginger, dark soy and 5 spice. It simply didn’t have the big flavour hit one would expect form that combination but, being a new restaurant, some tweaking of the menu is to be expected and you certainly can’t score them down for that. We spoke to Phil again and he immediately went off to see the chefs and pass along our comments. I would bet that this dish, like the others is now perfect. Service was a little on the awkward side but Manager Phil and Johnny certainly make up for it by constantly checking that everything is ok and seeing if you want another drink or anything else. Definitely worth a visit and we’re hoping we will be back time and time again.
