I recently developed an issue with my neck and right shoulder. It’s been going in and out for three months. I’ve seen a physio for it and it disappeared, but for some reason, it came back. The physio that first saw me was unable to see me last minute, so I made an appointment with the first physio who could see me. Luckily, Clifton Hill isn’t far from Fitzroy. The physio was professional and informative. She went over the problem thoroughly and massaged it out. She put a heat pack on it to help the knot and went over exercises that would assist with my neck/shoulder issue. The next day, I felt fantastic. I was still a bit stiff, but nowhere near as bad as I was before. I had a great experience at Clifton Hill Physiotherapy — I might change to them as they are closer to me. The only downside was the receptionist, who was not the friendliest. The plus side is that they are open after 5pm and on Saturdays from 7am to 1pm so I don’t have to get time off work.

Although the physiotherapist was slightly wrong in diagnosing my battered knee as the serious injury of a torn ACL, I was very impressed with the service here. And I was perfectly happy for her to be wrong in this case. Besides she did say that it is ‘likely’ to be said injury and when I cancelled my booking for the next week because my knee had made a fantastic recovery during the week, I was pleasantly surprised when she called me up to check up how I was going. Clifton Hill physiotherapy has a number of therapists which all seem to be pretty good. Just stay away from the older lady — who was asked to come in and give a second opinion on my injury. All she seemed to care about was sounding like know it all rather actually looking at my case. Not a very pleasant lady. They are open most days and are very accommodating if you have immediate needs — say for example, if you have busted a knee up and can’t walk — they will try and slot you in even if they are all booked up.
