Delicious vegan thai menu. So good. Only wish they delivered. The tom yum and massaman curry or faves. Everything we’ve tried has been delicious. Can’t wait to go back

Best vegan Thai I’ve ever had! Particularly the vegan pad Thai and the Tom kha! My sister is an extreme Tom kha fiend(for real) and she said it was the best she’d ever had. Super lovey staff and good vibes! Honestly love love loved it! Will not go anywhere else for vegan Thai because it just won’t compare.

Fantastic — home cooked style. Particularly recommend the Crispy Tofu salad(the apple was amazing) and the Roti(great satay).

Came here for a meal with a large group, and the(what I think was the) owner was a little bit ruffled — no smile. The Thai staff were good. Food was OK, I’d prefer the chunks of beef and potato in the massaman to be larger and the sauce to be thicker, but this seems to be the thing here as it was the same with their other curries. The rice is good, but it won’t soak up the runny sauce which I like for my curries. Their vegetarian dishes were better than their meat dishes, especially one which was fried tofu with an orange sauce — that was good. Overall it wouldn’t be my first place to come back to for a refill.

Every time I step in here to pick up my take away, I can’t help but hum Purple Rain — think Prince and sing«Bangkok Rain, Bangkok Rain». It’s just too catchy. Anyway, the fare at Bangkok Rain is authentically Thai, but with a Burmese twist — and they offer a selection of vegan dishes. On the scale of things, their standard Thai dishes like green curry and pad thai are good but not the best(I maintain Ying Thai 1 in Richmond and 2 in Carlton can’t be beaten), but I like Bangkok Rain for their Burmese bent. The Burma Curry with tofu is unique and delicious, with an orange-ish sauce coming from the combination of coconut milk and tomatoes. To make it vegan, they use soya milk, which gives it a light nutty flavour. A real winner! I’ve never eaten in here, so I can’t comment in detail on their service, but the take away is usually ready close to the allocated time and handed over with a smile. I would happily eat in here in the future — especially since there’s a full bar available!
