I’m just going to go ahead and get this out of the way: what in the name of actual living fff is that giant weird awful sculpture in the middle of the community square? It’s like they commissioned someone to make the worst thing they could think of and when it was presented they went, «Yes! THAT shall be our centrepiece.» It’s all I can see when I go there, which is frequently since it’s so near to me. Apart from that monstrosity it’s really quite a delightful little complex. Harris Farm, amazing flower shop, tons of cafes, a chicken shop, nice restaurants, lots of benches, sun and light and a steady stream of dogs to pat. And that giant sculpture. Right there. Looking over everything like the eye of Sauron.

It’s a nice shopping centre located on Miller street in Cammeray. I have been here numerous times over the last few years. There is a Harris Farms here for grocery shopping and Hudsons Butchers, Pattison’s Bakery, Simone Logue and a few other cafes and restaurants like Wild Sage, Cha Cha and so on. I believe there are also some other shops like salons and book shop etc. There is 2 hour free parking here and the carpark is spacious. It’s easy to get in and out of this place and its been a nice addition to the suburb. There is a medical centre some offices and a daycare in this centre. It’s quite busy day or night with shoppers and restaurant goers. I like the space here and its open and welcoming. Not bad for a suburban shopping centre.

I’m an instant convert to Stockland Cammeray. I’d seen the site go up on various trips down Miller Street, but it wasn’t until recently that I pulled in to have a look around. Now I can’t stop going back! The roomy carpark has 2 hours free parking, then upstairs you’re greeted with a sunny and fashionably modern courtyard lined with cafes and shops. This is the curative for my hatred of shopping centre cafes: with plenty of outdoor seating under broad umbrellas. There’s a Cicco Café, Pattison’s Patisserie and Simone Logue, as well as a Harris Farm, Hudson Meats, Chickens Plus and even a bookshop! And for parents it’s too easy with a daycare and medical centre right upstairs. You may be perched right on the express way, but Stockland Cammeray is a very well designed spot.
