Great café for espresso, reading, sunshine in the morning, good music and very friendly. Breakfast looks great!

The pulled lamb ciabatta was delicious, the plate was all but licked clean within a few minutes! Nice setup and friendly staff — we will be back.

This Lygon St corner favourite hits the high notes because the coffee is fantastic, every single time. Having just eaten breakfast here for the first time, instead of my regular take away piccolo, I can safely say these guys are doing it right with foodie business as well. Sit down at one of the small tables either inside humble interiors or beneath an umbrella outside, across the street from the(current) bike shop, and order away knowing the barista knows his stuff and the kitchen pumps out delicious plates all morning. The crew in here are the precise kind of relaxed East Brunswick peeps you would expect to find, complete with sleeve tattoos, black framed glasses and polka dot headbands. They’ll happily blitz around the café with a ‘Sunday morning’ vibe, quick to get your extra coffee requests translated into reality and pop down your orders fresh and steaming from the kitchen. My first breakfast endeavour was scrambled eggs with feta and almond Dukka and a side of chilli jam on sourdough. Possibly some of the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever tasted, but knowing this is a big call to make I’ll leave it to the population of East Brunswick to decide that. As a massive fan of chilli jam, I was delighted to see this within the menu, and more happy to see the«Extras» list consisted of one item: «Anything mentioned above.» I believe you could quite happily go to town with a special order consisting of a vast range of scrummy extras compiled from a melody of already eat-it-now menu items. If you’re in the area, definitely pay this café a visit — or pop by to grab a drop on the go, you won’t be disappointed.
