Excellent fair at Panama house. Tacos are amazing and love the range of chili sauce to choose from. Sadly I have moved away from the area, but will be back 100% Very highly recommended!

We kicked off our summer weekend in Sydney here. Happily we hit the prime of happy hour and snuck in a few cold beers with our calamari. After a whole lot of chat it was onto another nibble. We opted to share the king prawn and chorizo risotto(which has pearled couscous for all you risotto purists). It was lovely and while we were advised it wasnt a share plate it was filling enough for us both. Walked away happy with a good evening at a hip joint.

Came here for a late lunch with a friend. Was rather keen going off the other reviews and was pleased to see quite a number of other patrons. Good international beer menu which is a nice little touch. Not a whole lot on offer for food choices as we were just to late for the breakfast menu which is lengthy until 1pm. Went for the chicken and avocado roll that looks more or less like a burger. Unfortunately very bland taste and quite small definitely didn’t suit the price tag. My friend ordered the brisket and thought it to be rather average. Both orders came with chips and aioli sauce and we left most of them on the plate. Breakfast menu looked a lot more promising and the tacos have been praised by my friends. Unless these guys have a burger revamp just go for the breakfast menu or tacos, way to many better burger joints in the area.

Dear reader, The world’s worst post-rum headache has finally come for me and before I answer the call of this white light at the end of this strange tunnel, I will tell you about Panama House. The venue has this now very popular industrial look, with stainless steel, exposed brick walls and minimal decoration. But it does it well and it almost looks genuine! The staff is nice and even though the place was very busy, service is quick, efficient and discreet. I had Huevos Rancheros — have a look at the menu — and I thought it was a good hungover food, with nice textures: the soft guacamole, the spicy black beans, the creamy hollandaise and the crunchy taco. It lacked a bit of subtlety and the hollandaise was really necessary but hey, why not! With an espresso and a pot of Earl Grey, it carried me through brunch and allowed me to die with dignity, in the privacy of my home and a pot of duck fat. Victor out.

This place offers a small exellently crafted menu with a great choice of Wines. The food portions were quite nice but the price for juices was a bit much. With all that said, I would definitely come back here for some more amazing fries and calamari. The spicy mayo made every bite perfectly delicious. The service was exceptional and waitresses were very nice.

If it’s nice outside try and snag one of their tables outdoors for an even more awesome experience– but not to worry, if you aren’t able to you’ll still have one of the best breakfasts in Bondi waiting for you. I imagine their lunch and dinner is equally as good and one day I may stay all day to enjoy all three, but so far their breakfast has blown me away. The Spanish/Mexican inspired menu packs a punch and makes it hard to decide what to get. Breakfast tacos? Corned beef hashbrown with chipotle hollandaise? Corn fritters with a smoky salsa? Thank goodness I’ve got friends who want to try different things but are willing to share! These guys have done a great job taking your standard breakfast classics and jazzing them up a bit. You’ll also get four salsas at your table in case you want to spice things up even more– and those babies get HOT. Also appreciated that they had breakfast cocktails/booze available in case you want to hair of the dog it. Highly recommend!

Very good food. The mexican fajita was really good, especially the guac and fried chicken. The kids fish was really nice too and quite big. The only downside is that the café is small and popular so there wasn’t a fantastic amount if comfy seating. However the staff were awesome, really friendly, accommodating and made some good recommendation. Worth the trip! Ah as an aside I went there looking for biscuits and gravy due to a prego craving and even though they are on the online menu, they weren’t on the actual menu. Luckily I had lowered my expectations about this item before going. I understand many sydneysiders won’t appreciate them but they are so good, surely someone has to give them the opportunity to try this staple?

This place is a must. The service, food and drinks were spot on. We can with a large group with children, and they were beyond accommodating. The Margaritas were amazing as well as the Malbec they serve. The Southern Fried chicken was spot on, as well as the Hanger Steaks. All of the side dishes were also amazing. We basically tried everything ans have nothing bad to say.

We went here after reading raving reviews online. The restaurant is perfect — staff is super friendly, location is awesome and their gumbo was out of this world. The gumbo was as good as the one I had in Alabama. Ah the good times

Panama House was listed as a top brunch spot in Bondi, and as the story goes, I was planning to meet my pal for a brunch sesh and quite frankly I do not tolerate mediocre brunch. I ventured out to Bondi and right away I was loving what I saw on the tables. Salsas in varying hotness and flavours, real corn tortillas and black beans with avocado garnish. Tummy grumbled. I was ready. After a short wait we were seated and I was so thrilled to see Huevos Rancheros on the menu. I ordered. Then, I inhaled them. The poached eggs were perfect and the complimenting salsas were impressive! My dining partner ordered the tacos, and they looked amazing as well. As a native Californian, I’ve grown weary of the odd Aussie recommendation for«Mexican» or «South American» food, but Panama lives up to it’s Central American name. The food is authentic, fresh and unpretentious. Coffee was delicious, and the service was perfect. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Be warned that there’s usually a wait, but some clever planning and a small table for two can be secured with a 15 minute wait on a Saturday before noon. Not too shabby, I say.

You know that awkward person who sits at the bar eating lunch by herself smiling at her food, because its so damn delicious that she doesn’t care that she looks like Nancy-no-friends. Yeah, that’s me at Panama House. I am American, yes it’s true and I tend to be pretty excited when I find good American food in Sydney. No, not your seedy fast food and fries kind of American food, I am talking about the southern soul soothing type of American that can only be made with love(and lots of butter and fry oil). Panama House is the type of place where you can sit alone and not feel weird that you are more interested in your food than the people around you. The staff are chill but super helpful and ready to give their expert advice. The burger is AMAZING(I used to have dreams about it), the Fried chicken is divine and oh, fried chicken on a ceasar salad, yeah, that’s what I am talking about. Get that into you. So go with friends, sit alone, whatever, but I can guarantee it wont matter if you have company or alone — all your focus will be on the food.

Stopped by on a Monday night on our way home for a quick dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Speedy service, creative menu with some classics, fun waiter, great vibe. This place is full of win. An entire wall is exposed brick and the tables are small and packed in. It wasn’t noisy even though fairly busy. Reminded me of the East Village. We sat at the bar by choice, didn’t try any drinks this time but will be back soon. One star left off because they were out of tacos and po’ boys d’oh!

I almost don’t want to write a review. I love this little joint but don’t want anyone else to know. It’s getting almost too full now. My family and I are always assured of a fabulous breakfast, and the burger for lunch has to be one of Sydney’s best. This place flies under the radar, making delicious food and coffee for those in the know.

Brilliantly designed and expertly executed, Panama House is a must try! Food is delicious and based around South American cuisine. Jerk Chicken, tequila, pop-corn Shrimp they’ve got it all! Small cocktail list, but again it’s executed very well! Little on the pricey side of things, but maybe that’s to be expected…
