Porchetta. Big hunks of it on focaccia. Eat it. If you’ve never had porchetta, this is an excellent example to set your palate’s baseline. Near the beach, this is an excellent spot to refuel after a day of enjoying the surf.

Look, this place is ok, but it overpromised. On the photos i saw, the pizzas looked amazing, just the way i like them, Lucio-style. In reality, they have everything it takes to be amazing, but they fall a bit short: i ordered a Caponatina, and they went stingy on the veggies and way too generous on the grease. Fiancé had the cappriciosa and told me there was so much dough it didn’t cook properly and was raw in some parts. Regarding the ambience, the room is super cool, nice white décor, nice light, but boy that hipster music was way too loud. I love a good tune but keep it ambient, not center of attention: this is a restaurant, not a club. On the plus side, the service is nice, our waitress was really sweet, and they are fast from oder to table.

Da Orazio is one of those trendy, busy-every-night, crowd pleaser Italian restaurants, so be sure to book ahead. It was buzzy but not so loud that you couldn’t hear yourself think, so it was a great option when I dined here with a large group. We tried a bit of everything — cheese and charcuterie, pizza, pasta, salads & sides, and the porchetta from their whole roasted pig. Apparently they do this daily and carve everything up until it sells out. The porchetta gave us a whole lotta meat, served in a big platter with lemon. It’s seriously a lot of meat, so unless you have a big hungry table I would probably choose between this or pizza rather than both! Personally I would go the pizza/pasta route. We had a mushroom pasta dish that was just divine and everyone was thrilled with the pizza. Good for: pizza, pasta, meat lovers, hungry groups

The venue is seriously buzzing, even on a weeknight. The restaurant has a really great atmosphere, and the staff are warm and happy to be there. I dined with a group and we tried lots of different dishes, the selection of cheeses to start were a highlight, but it really was the pizza that stood out to me. I have had much better porchetta. It’s all about the pizza at this place, trust me.

Pizza is divine, seriously. Tastes like real Italian pizza, I’m impressed. I got the Siciliana pizza, eggplant, ricotta, tomato, and fior di latte. I went on a Tuesday night and it was jam packed. Staff is incredibly nice especially for being so busy. When I asked for recommendations for pizza and wine they gave me great answers. A lot of places will say depends on your preference. But here they tell you, I like that. Doesn’t help when we both don’t know the food or we’re both indecisive. I also got a beautiful red wine here, I wish I remembered the name, I tried looking it up on their menu but they don’t have their wines posted, and I can’t remember unfortunately. All in all, get pizza from here. You won’t regret it.

One of the top pizza places in Sydney! The Focaccia Con Porchetta is astonishingly good but be warned the portion size is rather large so share with a friend! This is just as good as the porchetta I had in Italy. Pizzas are thin, authentic and FANTASTIC! I also had an an antipasti a year ago with goat cheese, anchovies and white balsamic which was an incredible combination however unfortunately it has disappeared from the menu. My only small complaint is that I would have preferred tomato sauce with the Prosciutto pizza as I believe it to be too dry/plain as it comes with no sauce. So happy that Bondi has an authentic pizzeria! Tastes like Italy — Well done boys

Located opposite to Pasticceria Papa(gelato side) is this store. It was around 7.30pm when I arrived there and there were a number of people queuing for a table as there was a crowd in the restaurant itself. Was exploring Bondi Beach and decided to come here for food even though there were quite a number of options surrounding it. Decided to try out Porchetta(Slow roasted, deboned then rolled Berkshire pork, served using the traditional Italian way) as I’ve never had that before. Upon ordering, the server asked me if I would like a salad to go along with it as it was pure meat dish. I told her no and asked for the menu to decide what’s for dessert. The dish came within 10 minutes and like what I’ve been warned, it was a bowl with only meat. There is a lemon on the side and another small container with gravy on it. I added those two and started digging in. The meat was tender and the lemon gave it a zesty flavor that lingers in the mouth. I could taste rosemary in it and the gravy was mild but it made the pork dish more flavorful. Just by looking at the container, you can’t really tell how much was it as it came in slices. After chowing down half of it, I had to gulp them down with my lemon soda. For dessert, I had baby silicon cannoli. Was my first time trying it too. It is like chocolate covered wafers with chilled custard cream which was rolled and then sprinkled with sugar dusts. On the side there was another cream(not sure what). It came in 3 pieces and it was delicious. The wafer-like top was crunchy and the custard cream was not too sweet for my taste. Was definitely a good choice to end the meal. Service was pretty good as the staffs noticed when you finish your meal or beverage so that they can clear those away for you. One of the staffs also asked how was the meal and told him that it was great. This place might be better off with pizza as most of the people who dropped by here ordered a pan of pizza. Definitely worth a try :)

Top marks all round — what a great place. MB and I walked in without a booking and the first thing anyone one said to us was«we can make room for you at the bar» with a welcoming smile. All of the wait staff are Italian with the exception of one VERY Australian bar man. Across the board everyone was super attentive and friendly. The food was out if this world — buffalo mozzarella and proscuitto, pizza rustica and a panzanella salad on the menu for us. Every mouthful was better than the last and I would probably burn down an orphanage for another go at the burrata cheese. Hands down best Italian in Sydney.

Talk about overrated the charm to food the service has all gone and in such a short time. They have a rush you in get you out attitude that’s disturbing to eat by. The clientele a very non Bondi and the yuppies with precocious children have moved in. Although the menu remains virtually the same, the famous Porchetta is over salted and the Pizza is doughy and served room temp, just coming back from a trip to Rome this was very underwhelming.

Awesome, one of the best meals I’ve had in ages! I saw Anthony Bourdain have porchetta in his Layover Rome episode and made it a mission to search a local offering out. I was in no way disappointed. Not only was the porchetta delicious but the burrata(I think) cheese salad was literally the nicest salad I’ve ever had. The service was friendly and the environment was dynamic and modern authentic(if there’s such an oxymoronic thing). Our taste buds were prepared by the full spit roast pig right next to where we were sitting. Considering the meal was actually almost completely healthy, I can not recommend a visit to this place strongly enough. I’ll be coming back for the pizza, which looked fabulous, on my cheat day.

Hands down some of the best pizza and porchetta I have ever tasted outside of Italy. The pizza crust is a 2 day naturally fermented process, cooked perfectly in a super hot wood fired oven. There is plenty of mediocre pizza out there, now that this place exists, why would you ever choose another? this pizza is as good as it gets. Grilled octopus was tender, fresh and perfectly flame kissed with just right amount of char– if you like octopus, you must order this rendition. Brocolini in chili and garlic, was delicious. The porchetta is meltingly tender, flavored with fennel seeds, it’s pretty special. Been here three times, and each time it’s packed– nice to see, I’m not alone in my love for this place.

Do you like Neapolitan style wood-fire pizza? Do you like pork? Do you like Bondi? If your answer is yes to all three of these questions then you gotta come here. Found at the Hub, this place is relatively new and opened by Maurice Tenrzi, who also opened Otto and Icebergs. This place is trendy, cool, and very much Italian. The menu is decently sized, but we(4 of us) came here for the pizza and the porchetta, just as its name implies. We ordered the Prosciutto(looked good), the Marinara, and Focaccia Con Porchetta. Skip the Prosciutto, get the Marinara… or another pizza with a marinara base. Their marinara is amazing… the Prosciutto didn’t really have a base and was a little too salty so that was a bummer, but that marinara was pure awesome. With the Focaccia Con Porchetta, don’t be fooled cause this is meant to be shared. It comes with 4 big sandwich like pieces(which are freakin delicious) so if there are two of you that itself is enough food. Total bill was super affordable for the quality you get, so check this place out. Protip: Get the chilli oil
