Smooth Latin Groove

Whenever I go Latin dancing I expect to come to a class either full of females or full of old sleazy men who sweat all over you. Smooth Latin Groove is neither of these. The crowd that goes here is diverse and there are a lot of young people and uni students as well as older professional types. It is a great place to meet people and everyone treats the dancing socials as a bit of fun rather than trying to get to serious.
The hall is lovely with two dance floors (one upstairs and a larger one downstairs). There are plenty of parking spaces behind the venue or you can easily catch a bus there.
The steps they teach are easy enough for beginners but also complex enough for those with previous dance experience. They have a range of classes available from zumba to salsa, tango and bachata. They tend to run 7 week courses where you slowly build on what you know each week.
However, if you are more of the casual dancer like myself, Smooth Latin Groove also hold socials every couple of Saturdays which is great fun and excellent way to socialise and meet people. They will give a little class at the start and then just open up the floor or multiple floors for dancing. It is a lot of fun.
