Friendly and helpful people here. The store is stocked full of stuff and had almost everything I was looking for. Sometimes the organization of the items threw me(there was tea in three different spots) but they quickly helped me find(and reach!) what I was looking for.

Service More stuff than you see in any of the majors and most Westfields. Service and smiles. So many unusual items you can cook food from any continent or country in the world. Smile and cleanliness and fresh and great bakery items. The best Inner West supermarket bar none. If you haven’t been, you haven’t been served yet.

This is one well stocked IGA. Holy moly. Cosmopolitan munchies? Check. Fruit and veg? Check. Glucose lollies? Check. Tulips? Check. Friendly owners? Check. Yes, it’s probably a little pricy, but well worth a visit, rather than giving yet more money to Coles or Woolies. Plus, they have all sorts of obscure goodies, so if there is something peculiar you have in mind, chances are IGA will have it, somewhere in their crowded little store.

Great owners, very personable. They keep a great range. It’s a little more expensive than a Woolies, but no moreso than any other corner shop. Strongly recommended for their desserts, they have some homemade ranges that are quite good. Tends to get very busy around 6pm most weeknights and it’s open to around 9pm most nights. They generally have a full set of staff on the 3 tills so you don’t have to wait for very long anyway. Never seen an expired use by date so must have a lot of throughput.

I know that IGAs are meant to be local and independent — that’s what they stand for. But these guys in Annandale are good. They make the friendly talkative IGA worker on the TV ads look cold and shut-off. These guys understand the community spirit of Annandale and deliver outstanding service accordingly. The people of Annandale have petitioned thus far successfully against the construction of a supermarket super-centre in the area. Annandale is at heart a village and is a village with heart, and the people aren’t willing to give that up. They shop locally, even if their IGA can’t always compete with the big guns’ discounts. Annandale IGA have their own bakery, a good range of fruit and veg, yoghurts, cheeses and your usual packaged supermarket goods. They also have a really nice selection of flowers which brighten up the shop-front and add to the beauty of this little village.
