For years I have noticed various Polites signs scattered across the city, and assumed it was an exotic way of spelling Police (The colour scheme and font is even exactly the same).
Turns out a guy called Con Polites just liked to put his name in lights, every time he purchased a building. This confusion can potentially be embarrassing, especially if you walk inside to report a stolen wallet, only to be escorted outside by security.
So, don’t make the same mistake I did next time you pass these signs; If you do plan to lease office space, make a call or drop on by. Otherwise, just ignore the narcissistic branding.
