I’d passed this place a few times. Always packed and now I see why. We stopped in on a Sunday for the same good bartenders and live DJ with a more relaxed less, crowded vibe. It’s Not upscale or anything but the open air space gives you the option to make it what you want. They actually won me over we the picture of Kanye embraced in a kiss with himself. Hilarious

Big fan of The Vic. Was last in on a Thurs eve and it was bustling with a great vibe, DJ doing his thing, mix of uni students and Richmond locals of all ages either enjoying a smoke in the ‘outdoor’ front area or nestled into the great lounges in the back. Bar staff were cool, there were a few drink specials to choose from, and some decent beers on tap. What’s not to like?

It took me quite a while to find this bar(having traversed Victoria St a number of times before I actually discovered it), and when I did I immediately fell in love with it. I guess it had something to do with that large, outdoor, ground floor balcony out the front into which the bar protrudes. It seems like when they banned smoking in pubs and clubs, a number of bars simply moved their frontispeice back a few feet to create a place for smokers to sit and drink without having to pour out onto the street(though The Vic does have seating out the front). The other cool thing about this bar is that it has a proper gaming machine, namely an old video game box up the back that has a large selection of classic arcade games(as well as a few board games to boot). What I didn’t like about this bar though were the tacky posters that were on the walls of the men’s toilets, but since I don’t spend a huge amount of time in there I don’t really see it as a problem. All that considered, this is one of my preferred bars on Victoria St, even if it is because it is close to the railway station.

This is a cool little Victoria street bar. With a cool layout it encourages chilling out for a long session on the good stuff. I came here on a Monday where currently you can get 2 beers and a large nachos for $ 20. Not a bad deal really. They seem to have similar deals every other night of the week as well. It was pretty quiet the night I was there but apparently it gets crazy on a Friday and Saturday nights with a good vibe. Food I think comes from somewhere else cause I didn’t see where the kitchen could be but it was still some nice food. I could Definately make this my local

This is my favourite place in Melbourne to drink the booze. Sometimes one of the guys behind the bar gives me free beer. It pays to be a local. Shoutout to The Vic.

An awesome bar unfortunately located in a fairly ordinary section on Victoria St. I wandered into this place after an arvo of picking up some Asian groceries on the strip and was really surprised by how cool it was — a great glass-panel front with almost freight-ship-container style décor inside made of metals and cement. It’s stylish without being overdone or yuppie. There are also great booths to sit in, which is always a win in my book. The best part, though, is that they have happy hours from 6pm-9pm with $ 10 cocktails. My mojito was great and the music was kind of cool and beachy and not overbearing. I’ll definitely be making plans to drag some friends here.
