«This place is so close to the waterfront! Let’s walk to it.» I thought these were going to be my last words. Because while this place is only about a kilometer away from Istanbul Modern /the general waterfront area, I ended up hiking up some back alley stairs that I swear to god stretched out for an eternity. But I still think it was worth that small hike for this beautiful place! This neighborhood was super cute. We sat in the back patio/garden area and it was zen and wonderful. A welcome getaway after a crazy day of exploring the city. Unfortunately, we weren’t hungry enough for a full meal, but I thoroughly enjoyed their mint tea which — and I don’t mean this to abuse superlatives — is the best mint tea I’ve ever had. If I’m ever back in Istanbul, I’d likely try to stay in Cihangir and frequent this place some more. What a find!

Food was great but the service was awful. Called the guy to the table and he acknowledged me and continued to show the chef his phone for another 15min. I wanted to rate it higher! The location is very clean and interestingly decorated.

Kahve 6 delievers on so many levels. Located in the heart of trendy and hipster Cighangir, Kahve 6 offers a pretty expansive menu, decently sized portions, and a wonderful atmosphere. They have a great outdoor area with fountain and comfortable seating. You are immersed in this outside area, completly forgetting the outside world, the hustle and bustle of Istanbul urban life. The menu is healthy and filling, and would highly reccomend almost anything! Kahve 6 isn’t light on your wallet, but will not send you to the poor house either.

Their Turkish breakfast was excellent in many ways — good variety of cheeses, olives were superb, homemade jam excellent, and I especially loved the honey with clotted cream. However, they lacked in the breads department. I was unimpressed by all the bread products and pastry served with the breakfast. Harsh criticism, I know — but the atmosphere also made up for it. We had a lovely brunch and would recommend anyone to eat here.(especially to sit in the backyard garden!)

So awesome. Gorgeous, relaxing little patio in the back. Delicious vegetarian and vegan options. We came here frequently during our week stay in the neighborhood. Free wifi, comfortable seats and couches, and the water fountain gives nice background noise. Wish this was in my neighborhood at home!

I just love this spot. The garden is like a little oasis in the busy-ness of istanbul. I hear breakfast is awesome, but I usually come for lunch. The falafel sandwich is sooooo good. The staff is laid back yet attentive. You’ll need to get their attention if you need something, which is great as it’s not so invasive and you can visit. Their homemade lemonade in the summer is great. I also like the hot chai for two.

Exceptional in every way – Kahve 6 is simply charming. The food is excellent. We enjoyed a traditional Turkish breakfast spread and a skillet of menemen. Both were outstanding and Khave 6 uses local, organic ingredients where possible. This commitment to quality is evident in both ingredients and preparation. We washed all of this down with tea and Turkish coffee. The coffee in particular was an outstanding example of traditional Turkish coffee. What’s more the indoor and outdoor seating are charming to a fault. But this is evidently organic and not a function of trying too hard. The effect is irresistible. Service was good and prices are very reasonable particularly in view of the quality of the fare. Run don’t walk to Khave 6.

We had our best Turskish breakfast here, in the lovely garden of Kahve 6. So first, the place itself is charming, whether inside or outside in the garden(including a cute little fountain). It seems people are aware that this place is great so try to go a bit early or a bit late during the week ends or be prepared to wait a little, it is absolutely worthwhile. The food was really delicious. We had a traditional breakfast including simit(sesame bread), some cheese, olives, salads etc. To this already generous portion, we had a wonderful melted cheese: i was so surprised that it was so tasty. I had to share but i could have eaten it all. We also had menemen(Turkish scrambled eggs) with salami and pepperoni which were very well prepared and again very tasty — i think the best menemen we had in one week. So to sum up: delicious typical food and lovely surroundings. Only negative side is that it is a bit pricey, not excessive at all but do not expect a cheap breakfast. in Cihangir neighborhood, for this quality, i do not think you can find cheaper though.

This place is awesome! Best breakfast I’ve ever had! There’s a nice little back area, but the front part of the café has a lovely atmosphere as well. Perfect.

Best morning café we discovered on our trip to Istanbul with great breakfast choices and the most cozy small outdoor garden to enjoy. Highly recommended.

Its one of those places you just want to return to. Great service and really amazing breakfast menu with a lot of local dishes. It has free wifi and a lovely garden in the back as well as a cute table just in front of it. It seems like a place where travellers meet but also a lot of locals are in. Would definitely recommend for a brunch when you in Istanbul!

The chocolate volcano cake is the best cake I’ve ever had. Comes with perfect vanilla ice cream. I’ve tried my hand at making both from natural ingredients and been pretty pleased with myself, and enjoyed many many molten chocolate cakes and ice creams; I don’t know if it’s also due to the lovely peace of the back patio, the simple euphoria of Istanbul in October, or the magical touch of the pastry chef, but that excellent cake stands prominently among the best desserts I’ve ever had. It’s worth mentioning that the other things I and my boyfriend had — a goat cheese salad and grilled salmon sandwich — were also top notch, but that cake, I can’t get out of my mind.

Went there for brunch, which is served through most of the day. The place is very modern and clean. The backyard area is pretty incredible and was an oasis out of the city. We ended up here at the recommendation of someone from our hotel. Its less touristy, more upscale, and has really great food. We had the menemen and it was just ok. The juices were good.

Try the scrambled egg sandwich… Better than mom’s! Quiet during the day with simple art on the walls. Love this place!

My hopes were pretty high when the previous 2 reviewers called it the best place on earth. But Kahve 6 did not disappoint. Fantastic food and an all around great experience.

One of my favorite places on earth. They serve my wet chocolate cake as soon as sit. Because they know I cannot start my day or meal without the chocolate cake. Smiling and joking they take my order. They are always ok with alterations which I ask a lot. Half of this, quarter of that, no this, no that, a lot of this. Mehmet(one of the waiters) never writes these long list of demands and miraculously he never gets them wrong. Food is touched by taste fairies, always so delicious. I try making the simplest salad they have at home, still not the same. They must put a whole lot more love and care than I do. Anyways, I love this place, their food, their service, what they stand for and what they are. Do not miss the wet chocolate cake :)

This might be the nicest place in Cihangir, perhaps even on earth. Entering this place is not much different than entering the kitchen of your house. Except someone else cooks. And washes the dishes. And it’s bigger(at least from my kitchen). You can sit here in the morning to sip your coffee and read your newspaper, listening to the sound of the little fountain in the middle of the backyard, or maybe you don’t need the caffeine and you want to try one of the many herbal teas –try the fresh mint tea with lemon!- or perhaps you want to get even more comfortable and have your cookies with milk. Especially the choices for breakfast are all delicious, you can have musli with yoghurt, or a traditional turkish breakfast –the tulum cheese tastes just like it should– with salad, or perhaps an omelette. And most importantly you don’t need to rush, everybody needs a good sleep on a Sunday, and that’s why you can have breakfast until late hours. After all, the name says it all: the number six is «altı» in Turkish, and«kahvaltı» is the turkish word for breakfast, which literally means«under the coffee». That doesn’t mean that you can’t come here for lunch or dinner! The sandwiches and wraps are delicious and healthy, the soup they make during the winter can keep you warm on those freezing days of winter, and the deserts: oh la la! The hot chocolate cake may take sometime to be prepaped(so you might want to order it while in the middle of your meal) but it’s more than worth the wait. The people working here are always willing to make you happy –don’t take it personally if they are not smiling that much, that’s just their style! So if you want something that is not exactly on the menu, just ask for it and chances are they will make it! All the ingredients used are organic and you can tell they are super-fresh. They order them specifically from many different places of Turkey, so it is impossible to find the same at your local market. If you are a vegetarian, you won’t have a problem finding something to eat here, since there is plenty of choices that will suit your needs. The prices are reasonable comparing to other places in the area, this is Cihangir after all! If you are going for breakfast on a Saturday or a Sunday, you might want to go a bit early because there’s a chance that you won’t find a table. Or a bit late, that will also work. It is impossible not to love this place, you can only feel like home here!
