I love the Krishna Gemeinschaft in Zurich. What can I say? An oasis of tolerance and spirituality right in the middle of the city that welcomes everyone, regardless of your faith. I have met here plenty of wonderful people, and the services are always cheerful and enlightening, some are held in german and some in english(one can always find a helping translator among the crowd if need be). I leave the temple always feeling renewed. People is welcomed throughout the week, for devotional services or study at their library. There is also a small shop when one can find books, meditation beads, sweets and jewelry. But the temple really comes to life in Sundays, when the Sonntagsfest is on. Lots of chanting, wonderful food(starting at 5 pm, 14 francs for abundant vegetarian specialties, the best indian food in town!) and guided meditation make for a very interesting mixture. In summer, people sit outside in the gardens to share prasadam together. So nice! They also organize yoga seminars, colorful cultural and religious festivals held either on site or around the city & ayurveda cooking lessons.
