On the second floor, past the piano or guitar player, same door as the business class lounge. Business class ticket will get you into either, but I asked if I could go into the Senator Lounge(I can never remember the requirements!). When I mentioned I had United 1K, she asked to see my card. I remember traveling with colleagues and the staff at other airports requiring to see a physical card — I was really happy that the staff at ZRH accepted my United MileagePlus app, with 1K status listed. Wireless is available, they’ll print you a voucher for 24 hours, so you don’t have to text and get a code. When you enter the lounge, immediately take stairs up, which I found a bit odd(half a floor with no obvious elevator). There’s another level with wide windows(overlooking the runway maybe? I didn’t haul my little carryon up the stairs just to check it out). Its another staircase up. The bathrooms are small, women’s had two stalls(each a closed room), and very poorly ventilated — layering strong perfume over the smell of crap, I got out of there as soon as possible. Its a bit strange that near the food area you can look into the business lounge, it lets in light, but feels like a bit of a cage. Lunch food came out at 11am, sandwiches with cold cuts, gnocchi with tomato and corn, paella, and two soups(potato and leek and beef with semolina). I tried the soups. The bowls barely hold a ladleful. The potato and leek was a little watery and could have been warmer. The beef broth with semolina was too much tiny semolina and greasy. Not gourmet, but filled the belly. The lounge is small, and felt cramped by 11:30am.

Worst customer experience ever. They need your membership card even if all over your boarding pass it says that you are a gold member. I even pulled up my online account. Very rude staff.

Tolle Lounge in Zürich.

Also, was will man mehr? Und irgendwie schmeckt hier sogar das Mövenpick Eis!

Very nice lounge in terms of food, drinks and space. I felt there are plenty of seats and desk for working. A few PCs are available as well. You can get wifi pass for 3 devices. For breakfast, plenty of freshly baked warm bread, croissants and rolls, yogurts and muesli, cheese and fruits. Of course nice espresso machine you can get all kinds of espresso drinks. Plenty of juice, soda drinks, wine and some liquors. From around 11 am, you can get lunch including fried rice, pasta, salad, sandwich and soup. PS: Chocolates and cookies are all day available. No difference between senator and business lounge.

Nice lounge, seating was limited but I was easily able to find a comfortable seat. The lounge offers a decent speed of wifi. Beverages were plentiful as it’s always happy hour in the lounge.

Of the standard access lounges(not counting the international business/first class elite lounges) I’ve been to, the Swiss Senator lounge at Zurich airport is one of the best. While it might not be quite as nice or expansive as the Singapore Airlines lounge in Changi airport, it does have the better food.
