This is an airline that flies short and medium hauls for Swiss Air. I took a flight from Zurich to Antalya, Turkey on 26 May 2012. Service was excellent. Particularly enjoyable was a conversation I had with a very well-​spoken flight attendant. She hailed from Hallau in Schaffhausen canton which, I learned, produces many varietals of wine. Her father produces wines from a number of grapes. Since returning to NYC, I’ve bought some excellent Swiss wines, not from Schaffhausen but from viniculture regions in southern Switzerland. They’re pricey but fascinating. Grapes I’d never heard of like amigne and humagne rouge. I’m very appreciative of what I learned from this charming young woman.
