Wow. I ran into Captain Plant at Multimobil Zurich. Their great logo caught my attention first, followed by their burgers, and samples they were providing. I gathered they were meat substituted burgers, but being vegan is pretty cool. The pictures and prices looked tempting, so I ordered the VItal Burger. I didn’t understand the differences between the Vital, Captain, and Tex-​Mex burger, but the bread looked good. After I ordered, I sampled the Tex-​Mex and it definitely had a nice spicy kick. So the difference is in the veggie patty.
Anyway, the service was prompt. It was a petit burger with fresh lettuce, ketchup, and lightly toasted bread. It was the perfect to go size. Besides tasting good, I appreciated the 8 CHF price. They also had fries, but quickly ran out of one variety. Based on their Facebook page, I think those were the seasonal pumpkin fries. They did encourage their FB fans to get their early for these popular seasonal fries. If only I knew.
Their website is advertising «coming soon 1.10.13», so maybe there will be a store opening. Otherwise, maybe you’ll catch them at an event or festival like I did. Currently, they state their home as Basel.
