T.G.I. Friday’s

Well I’m not a fan of these fast food places and we ended up in here in protest. A group of us went into a nearby upmarket restaurant and as we sat down one of the staff noticed one of our company had a bottle of beer in hand. The security at the door going in took no issue as there was so little left in his bottle but the staff member snatched the bottle from him and was rather rude and he threw the bottle with its small amount of beer into a bin. Our friend was indignant about this and rightly so. We were all pleasant and quietly polite and so we became indignant with and for him so as the staff put out the expensive menus we all stood up and left again — their jaws dropped and they watch as about £1,000 in trade walked out the door crossed the street into this place. So into this fast food place — it was an over priced burger & chip joint. It was fine, not great but not lousy. I had the chilli burger version. I liked their smokey Jack Daniels sauce despite it being sugar overloaded. (Young Jack Daniels died from bad temper. He put lots of cash in a safe forgot the code. Kicked the safe in temper broke a bone in his foot got blood poisoning and over and out). Staff were great and friendly the beer was good the cocktails even better so we drank quite a few. The booze to food ratio was about ⁹⁰⁄₁₀. One darn annoyance in this place and places like it is the loudness of the music they play — makes conversation difficult but there’s always alcohol!

Did what I wanted it to do! Grand, predictable food. I had the JD burger and it was tasty but quite greasy.
Friendly staff so no faults on that side.
They did have some interesting cocktails on the menu (such as ones involving candy floss) but I didn’t have a chance to explore too deeply.

I’ve only had the burger at this place and they are always delicious and fill me up. The service at this place is quite slow though. When we were the only ones sitting inside we were completely forgotten and getting a waiter to notice us was difficult, their main attention was on the outside.

Bog standard as usual. But we had hangovers and had done our fine dining for the week at Geist in Copenhagen the night before. We fancied good old fried finger food — and that’s what we got.
However, there were a few things with the service that were pretty sloppy.
— Tub of salsa fell off the plate when they were serving. Salsa down my leg and all over my shoe was not how I was planning to start my night. The waitress wiped it with a serviette and then put the plates down on top of it. I had to ask her to take the food away, clean the table properly and come back with the food.
— Forgot our order of onion rings, and by the time they delivered them we’d finished eating everything else and were full.
— Plus point: free refills on soda ! :)
— Buffalo wings were actually really good. Spicy.
All in all pretty much as expected. It was in the middle of Eurovision week so the fact the waiters were a bit stressed and distracted was to some extent understandable. Even so it’ll be at least another year before I go to any TGI Friday’s again

Great attitude on the staff, which were very friendly and helped us out in a great way when we were in a time-​constraint.
Good classic menu, where all the pieces of food was cooked very nice, except the bearnaise-​sauce, that was a bit watery and didn’t seem home-​made.

We only went for desserts… they were superb!

So, you know what to expect when you visit a chain restaurant. TGIF didn’t disappoint. I was in the mood for some Americana and had a burger and a beer at the bar while watching a football match. The service was good and I have no complaints. TGIF is just off Lilla Torg.
