Hyllie is one of these stations that is incredibly boring. It does not hold much in terms of services or stores and it always seems to be windy out here as well. The few times I had to transfer here it has also always been chaotic with frequent track changes, poor announcements. The lack of sufficient number of escalators and elevators also is an issue here. Skånetrafiken’s regional trains, the Öresund trains and the DSB trains stop here as it is the first stop on the Swedish side after the bridge(or the last stop before the Danish side). The ticket machines are designed by someone who has no sense of simplicity, they should take lessons from the likes of Amazon where it is easy to shop. Here there are way too many steps before a purchase. Do note that currently all trains from Denmark stop here for a border control so expect some delays as there is usually 1 or 2 police officers checking the documents of all passengers so may take some time.

Hyllie station reminds me so much of Ørestad station on this side of the Sound. Deserted, dust and leaves billowing in the wind, glassy high-rise office buildings and one damn large of a shopping mall soaring like a sore thumb in the middle of a deserted plane. This is the first stop on the Swedish side when you take Øresund train from Denmark and this is usually Mina K and I’s last stop in our obscene shopping trips in the name of helping Swedish economy. What can I say? Emporia lures and attracts and it has that giant supermarket that holds pretty much everything that we crave in this life. Hyllie serves both Øresund train and the cute purple local pågåtåg train and if you buy tickets from either DSB or Skånetrafikken, your tickets are valid for both, no need to wait for Øresund train to go to Malmö C or Triangeln, you can take the cute purple train going north. No DSB machine on this side of the Sound, obviously — but if you need a ticket, there are bunch of Skånetrafikken machines on the upper level /ground level. Apart from that, this is one boring station, hence the two stars.
