A big space, lot’s of bouldering variety, quite a lot roped climbing, frequent route resets, and friendly staff are at the heart of this gyms success. There’s a good sized changing room with lockers and showers, a café to sit and have a cup with a new or old friend, a climbing gear retail store and yes, shoe-​horns for their «no shoes beyond this line» policy. They have done a lot of work this Summer on the gym and it is vastly improved by adding hard flooring for «clean and jerk» practitioners and anyone looking for more stabilized footing, olympic rings, a rope climb, mounted ab benches, new yoga mats, and more space by re-​organizing a bunch of things. It is definitely a gym for those of us that prefer body-​weight exercises.
In a previous review, I knocked them for the stiffness of the mats upstairs. I can say that over time they have become less so. Unfortunately they have also taken away the buffet, which was a great deal but apparently was too difficult and costly to manage. At least TellUs Bar and Kök just outside the gym has some good deals. Another thing that is difficult about this gym, but doesn’t apply to many is that the monthly rate is very expensive if you can’t sign up for their automatic debit plan which requires a Swedish Bank Account (and personal number). They had a Summer deal where you could purchase access through the end of August, but they don’t usually have anything like this at any other part of the year. It would be nice if they did something to address this: allowing people to purchase a certain number of months at a time at a discounted rate.
It’s perhaps too expensive in Sweden but it’s a shame they don’t have fitness classes or Yoga with your membership as is common in the States — but probably in Sweden there is enough of that elsewhere.
