The upside: The food was so, so good. I had Räkmacka(shrimp toast) and it was really delicious. There was something about the way it was spiced that was a bit different than the one I had elsewhere, and it wasn’t too heavy on mayo. This made all the difference for me. The downside: Holy spendy smörgås, Swedish chef. It was good food, but there’s no way I’d pay $ 28 for that + a beer if I wasn’t on vacation. The staff serving the food also wasn’t particularly friendly, as some have noted, but the guys cleaning the tables up were very efficient. Overall I’d recommend it, but be prepared to pay out for the smörgås. If you know its coming the sticker shock won’t get in the way of enjoying a great meal.

Fresh, fresh, fresh. And so pretty. And tasty. Definitely a highlight of the Saluhall — we were there in mid-May and six weeks later still talk about ‘that meal.’ Everything is artfully presented, service was kind, and we’ll be going back next summer.

For a quick lunch counter located in the market hall in Stockholm, we had some incredible food here. We started with the smørrebrød open faced sandwiches which came absolutely stacked with protein. One contained small cold water shrimp piled high on Danish rye bread with tomato and dill. The other sandwich came with 5 generous slices of liver pâté and multiple kinds of pickles and tomato. Both of these were extremely filling and very satisfying. We also figured we’d try their daily special plate of meatballs served with cream sauce, lingon berries and mashed potatoes — all of it housemade and extremely delicious. The plate of Swedish meatballs really capped the meal and made this a memorable lunch. All of the meals came with a side salad and sliced bread with butter. I would definitely eat here again if I found my self in the area again. It was really quite delicious and a great place to refuel before an afternoon exploring Stockholm.

Tysta Mari is located in Östermalms Saluhall food market. Their products are fresh and service is very friendly. Smørrebrød was OK, just I didn’t expect to get aquaculture salmon for charged price! Aquaculture salmon is greasy and isn’t to enjoy eating! We don’t know whether shrimps aquaculture are or not as we didn’t ask!

Had a great wrap from here. I thought that I was only going to get ½ of it because of the way it was displayed but I got the whole thing then I ordered. it. Tasted great and you could tell how fresh the ingredients were. The asparagus really snapped when you bit into it. Yum. I got it to go and it came in a nice paper bag with handles.

This place offered me first a very poor, slow and inefficient service. When kindly I wondered where my ordered lunch meal was after almost 10 minutes, I was given a bad attitude: «We have already served that fish!» I then pointed out that that serving was for someone else, I was just brushed off as it was my fault. No apology offered, no compensation. The food on my plate was not pleasantly or esthetically served, but dished out in the fastest possible way. Hospital meals that are notorious for looking unpleasant had been better looking! The plate per se was good-tasting but really nothing to write on Unilocal about… ;) If this place thinks highly of itself and its present location in the posh Östermalm Saluhall, I think some polish of the service is fervently needed. Good food results in a foul taste when served with a bad attitude…

I dined here to try some smörgås without knowing how expensive this place is. For a mixed seafood smörgås and a cup of cappuccino, I probably paid like $ 30!!! When I looked around, there were lots of men in suits having lunch with their business partners/co-workers which seemed to suggest that this place is a little bit more upscale and classy than your typical deli. My mixed seafood spread was a tad heavy on mayo but it was fresh and sinfully delicious! I highly recommend getting the one with avocado, it tastes so much better with it! I still think $ 30 was a bit pricey for an open sandwich but how often I’m in Stockholm anyway? Besides, it was very good so I’m just gonna say it was worth it after all.

This is a foodstall/counter in the Ostermalms Saluhall. The surrounding tables were full of lively tourists and diners, so I chose to eat there with my travel companion. They had a single paper copy of the menu in English, which was eagerly passed down the line as we waited. We each ordered the same open-faced Salmon sandwich, but, interestingly, we each got something different. I thought I had ordered a sandwich with avocado and tomato, but instead got a sandwich with a creamy spread and smoked salmon, and nothing else. This cost 135 Kroner; over $ 20US, which I felt was greatly overpriced, but comparable to my other experiences in Sweden. Cappucino was $ 9. The food was tasty and certainly fresh, and I feel I got to enjoy an interesting gourmet food experience at this historic institution.
