Tried the vegetarian platter — great variety of small dishes with tasty/interesting spices.(4⁄5). Also had the Kobideh — lamb scewers with saffron rice — it was good but I would recommend to order some extra sauce for dipping and mixing with the rice(3⁄5). The portions are not large or small, but swedish lagom — at decent pricing. Cosy environment and close to Zeta Bio(in case the food makes you want to see a movie afterwards). Enjoy!

Awesome atmosphere! I am a strict vegan, and they had the best options. MAKE sure you tell them you’re vegan, otherwise you will get the vegetarian plate including dairy and egg. Once that was straightened out, I was so pleased with me food. Can’t wait to come back!

Delicious and great service. It’s tough for a persian restaurant to have food that tastes home made, but this one does a great job.

What I loved about Shahrzad was the consistency of the concept. The restaurant is decorated accordingly and feels like you got teleported somewhere into the Middle East. The service/staff is friendly and elegant. I came for brunch with friends and we all had a great time. The food portions are generous and the original flavors are there. For just 189kr is a very value-for-money brunch combined with the whole experience. You get 3 small dishes as starters, then you can choose 1 from 5 main courses and end on a sweet note with a baklava. Can only suggest to be included a vegetarian option.

I went to Shahrzad for a sunday night dinner with 4 people. We arrived early to an almost empty, but beautifully decorated and stylish yet homey, restaurant. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, with some solid knowledge about the dishes to answer our curious inquiries, which is always nice. And we had plenty of questions! I can count the number of times I’ve had Persian food on one hand, so although I’m far from an expert on the cuisine, I know good food — and this was it. I can especially recommend the starters — we ordered the 8-course starter menu for a fairly steep 399SEK, but it was well worth it. The slightly-more-than-bite-sized Meze-style dishes were varied and interesting, with one similar trait: their quality: They were all delicious, each with complex flavors and spices unfamiliar to a Swedish palate. A common theme throughout Sharhzad’s menu is their reliance on saffron in many of their dishes, from starters to main courses to desserts and even cocktails — if you’re a fan of the spice, you’re going to love the food. Sadly, the main course did not impress on the same level. Although decently flavorful and stylish in its presentation(I got my own little cast-iron pot kept hot by a candle!), the lamb stew I ordered was disappointing in how it treated its main attraction: the lamb was overcooked and not particularly tasty. Luckily, the saffron rice and tzatziki saved the dish, especially when paired with the delicious bread served alongside our dinner. For dessert we tried the candied dates, baklava and home-made saffron ice cream. Of these, sadly only the saffron ice cream made any lingering impression. The date and baklava were both good, but nothing special. The saffron ice cream, however, was great, and a very nice way to finish an otherwise saffron-y meal. In summary, a great experience with some excellent food, and especially rewarding for those curious about Persian cuisine — although the starters were better than than mains. Combine good food with great wait staff and a cozy locale and you’ve got yourself a great night at Sharhzad.

I went to Shahrzad with 6 friends on a Friday night for drinks and dinner. Shahrzad has an attractive front bar that could be the host of a comfortable but intimate afterwork though the size of the actual physical bar top in the front is a bit small. We were seated fairly promptly for dinner without reservations(lucky) but were surprised at first to find how«formal» the back area was. It seemed to be and each ordered a cocktail; Stockholmtini, Old fashion and Dry Martini. All of the cocktails were judged smooth and enjoyable. After the cocktail everyone settled in and felt more comfortable. Everyone ordered, to split, the Kökets Special(2 personer) Lammfärsspett, saffranmarinerad kycklingspett, yoghurtmarinerad lammfilé spett och marinerad oxfiléspett(kitchen’s Special(2 persons) Minced lamb skewers, saffron marinated chicken skewers, yogurt marinated lamb fillet skewers and marinated beef skewers The meats were very flavorful and juicy. Everyone was pumped. The saffron rice was said to be delicious but I did not try any. Super LCHF and Paleo friendly. Everyone agreed we would go back again.
