A good steak house that takes what Texas Longhorn sets out to do but does it better — and that goes for both service, interior design and the food itself. The place is furnished from top to bottom with cowboy references, complete with saddle barstools at the bar. The tables are small and they’ve crammed as many as they possibly could into the small space they have. The menu is all about steaks and burgers, with«cowboy style» sides like beans, corn cobs and that kind of stuff(my kind of stuff!) I was in a party of four and we ordered a starter platter with chicken wings and what not to share before the main course. It was good but not incredible. For main I ordered a rib eye steak and I was very clear that I wanted it rare. I even added that«it should have a pulse». What I got was medium at best. Orders like«rare» and even«medium rare» seem hard for chefs to nail(or easy to forget) because they always seem to mess it up and get me medium. I complained(which is always uncomfortable when you’re the type who doesn’t want to be bothersome to anyone) and they got me a new stake which was indeed bloody. I got a sincere apology from the chef via the waitress and also desert on the house. Still, I had to eat my meat alone since the other three in my party had already eaten their main courses by then. That’s always a drag. Then I ordered my free desert with extra spoons and shared it with the others. All in all, a pleasing restaurant experience. I would gladly come back!

If you’re an American wanting a good, fat, old-fashioned steak and all the real American sides, then you’re in luck. It’s really tough to get a table here, since it’s such a small place, so you get here early and you’re set. The bartender speaks English with a southern accent and sports a big cowboy mustache. But don’t let the tackiness of that get to you because this place is all about the food. S&S specializes in steaks, so like in any good American steakhouse, there are different cuts and different sizes. Then you pick your sides. It’s the real American steakhouse experience. The beer is flowing, and steaks are awesome. It’s a good place to go once in a while when you miss home. The steep prices will remind you that you can’t go every week.
