Oxelblom

This is a great Swedish restaurant that serves regional Swedish food in an upscale environment. Service is top notch and each dish is meticulously prepared with detail to get it just right.
This is my favorite type of restaurant and was one of my favorites in Sweden.

Our best meal in Scandinavia. They offer a short menu from two different regions in Sweden each night and you choose three or five items. They tell you the ingredients but the actual dish is a surprise until it is served. The food and wine were great. Our server was from Australia but had (to our ears) mastered the proper Swedish pronunciations of the different dishes and how they were prepared. She was a particularly helpful and gracious host.

Very good food and exelent service. Cozy and yet professional. The room is something out of the ordinary. We enjoyed the evening.
The idea of serving traditional regional Swedish dishes with a twist is great.

Wonderful environment combined with exceptional 5 stars service the evening couldn’t start better. Then add top traditional swedish food and the combination is perfect

Oxelblom is a relatively new restaurant in Sodermalm, featuring five-​course tasting menus based on different Swedish territories such as Ostergotland, Halland and Reich (Veg).
Pros:
–You are allowed to mix and match from the different tasting menus or choose individual a la carte dishes if you’re not that hungry.
–At around 500 kroners per five courses, I would say this is pretty «reasonable» for Stockholm.
–The ambiance is relaxing yet classy and there is separate seating if you want to grab some drinks and chat with friends.
–The service was great – super friendly waitress and maitre’D. They really go above and beyond to please the customer
Cons:
The food was hit and miss. It seemed like the kitchen hadn’t yet figured out its rhythm and seemed as though there was some confusion with orders/​dishes. Desserts were good as well as the home-​made bread.

Interessantes Esskonzept, 3 Menus aus verschiedenen Regionen Schwedens, die einzelnen Gänge lassen sich auch untereinander tauschen. Man bekommt nur die Zutaten genannt, vom Ergebnis kann/​darf/​muss man sich dann einfach überraschen lassen. Das Essen war perfekt, der Service super und vor allem freundlich und weil wir noch etwas auf den 4. Gang warten mussten, haben wir den Espresso zum Schluss aufs Haus bekommen. Insgesamt ein sehr schöné Erfahrung in Stockholm im Vergleich zu den Touri-​Angeboten, die ähnlich teuer, aber längst nicht so nett waren!

Sehr nettes Restaurant, dass ausschließlich halbe Portionen serviert (diese aber so groß, dass drei Gänge in der Regel ausreichen). Es gibt auch relativ preiswerte Fünf-​Gänge-​Menüs. Service sehr fürsorglich und persönlich, daher aber nicht unbedingt superschnell. Slow Food eben :-)
