Catastrophic, they couldn’t even pull a double espresso. Over a minute of extraction and did not know how to adjust the grinder. Worse than Starbucks.

SWEDISH JOE
It’s no mystery as to how this coffee shop was named. They offer strong coffee and stronger coffee and it’s delicious.
Small high-​top tables and stools line the wall of the tiny shop, as well as stools along the window front. Charm, warmth and the smell of cinnamon ooze from within, enticing passerbys to investigate further and peer in at the mounds of baked goods on the counter top.
Business professionals stop in as part of their daily routine on their commute to work and the staff greet them with a smile and a kind word.
This would be my cup of joe place if I lived in this neighborhood.
NOTE: They do not open early on Saturday mornings. :(

As far as coffee goes, the Mean Café pours you exactly that; a really mean coffee, in the best sense of the word.
Each cup is prepared with focus and craftsmanship. The Cappuccino is my favorite, though the Latte is a strong competitor.
So, to all you coffee lovers out there I say: don’t walk by the Mean Coffee; just enter and enjoy.

While walking Vasagatan, you’ll find in the middle of pubs, hotels and fast-​foods, this great coffee shop.
It’s small, not so cosy but it’s great to stop by and have a great cup of coffee (one of the best cappuccinos I have had in my entire life). It was so creamy and had a hidden hazelnut flavor.
They have a selection of Swedish pastries, such as kanelbullar.
I would definitely stop for a cup of coffee while in the neighborhood but that’s it. Still it was a great start to my journey.

The coffee is great. I recommend their flat white. Its not listed in the menu but you can ask the barista to brew one for you. As for the location, its a tight squeeze. There is barely enough space to have a comfortable sit-​down with a friend. I hope to see this coffee shop grow and move to a bigger space in the future.

My favorite coffee shop near my hotel. Great brew and pastries. Service again was very good. It was a busy day in Stockholm but we caught them during a slower time so no issues with lines and we were on our way.
Stockholm World Triathlon was about to start so many crowds were that direction.
Did not add pictures since so many good ones are listed. The heart shape finish on the drinks a nice touch for such Mean Coffee.

Had an aeropress coffee here — cool that they offer so many different ways to make your coffee. They were also willing to talk to me about what bean would go best with which method. And they were just generally very pleasant. Worth checking out; also very convenient and close to the central train station.

Ordered a latte. For the price I was really dissapointed. This is a grab & go place, but they could really do with fixing the interior to make people sit down in a nice atmosphere as well.

A superb place to grab a cup of excellent quality coffew from top tier baristas. Regularly rotates between some of the best micro roasters from the nordic region. So if you are into the specialy coffe thing or just want som of that wonderful nordic brew culture this is a wonderful place visit.

This was our first stop as we arrived in Stockholm. The two young women behind the counter were friendly and very helpful in helping us find our way. And the coffee was excellent!

A great place to stop by for coffee or even for a quick lunch !
The service is very friendly and the inside of that little café will somewhat remind you of one of those NY cafés. But one thing for sure, they know how to make their coffee right.
They also make delicious smoothies. My favorite is the one with mango and buckthorn, so refreshing and so tasty ! Their melting chocolate cake is also a must.
And if you just want to stop for a quick lunch, try their croque monsieur.
It is definitely a place I could stop by several times a week if I lived around.

MEAN Coffe is nursing the legacy of V. Street Coffe, i.e. providing excellent coffe in a part of Stockholm otherwise completely deprived of such. The area around the main railway hub «Centralstationen» is devoted to the big coffee chains and tourist traps.
MEAN Coffe serve a great weekly roast and offers very nice espresso and variations of such. The pastries are good and so are the sandwiches.
MEAN Coffe might not be my first choice for a nice sunday «fika» — but it definitely gets my vote on those early mornings going to work.

The replacement of my previous favorite V Street — same location, V Street sign still outside and basically looks the same.
The three new guys who have taken over continue a good concept and has made it better. They are always having two coffees in the grinder for espressos and also put in a great little brew bar. Food is good café style food so this enters straight into the top of my list of coffee places in Stockholm.
