Excellent food. Walking distance from hotel, which recommended it when we arrived after a long trip. I had excellent salmon and my wife liked her meal too. Staff was friendly. Nice atmosphere but we were surprised to discover that it was mostly outside — we sat in a pavilion that shielded us from the breeze. Would be an absolute delight on a sunny day.

I love Mälarpaviljongen. This is my second time coming here on my visit to Stockholm. View is amazing, friendly vibe, great seating, and nice staff. A floating pavilion bar, who can complain? Food/Bar: Decent selection of wines and champagne, and their skägen is delicious! However, they are a bit overpriced in my opinion(but it’s Stockholm so it’s understandable). You are paying for the view and the vibe :) Staff/Service: Staff is okay, nothing to write home about. Compared to the States where workers are actually working for tips, they do their job but that is about it. Don’t expect a waiter to come around and take your order. I just felt like it would be nice if they had waiter/waitresses come around and taking your order/serving your food/drinks every couple minutes rather than go up to the bar and order it yourself. Experience/Atmosphere: Come here during Spring/Summer time and you’ll be blown away. With a panoramic view of vintage Swedish architecture right in front of you as you sip on your glass of Rosé with a date, this is the place to be. A place of serenity, Mälarpaviljongen offers a peaceful and relaxing experience. It’s just a very chill place to sip on wine or fika. Only reason why I can’t give it a 5 stars is because it’s slightly pricey and service is more DIY. But then again, you aren’t tipping here so I can’t complain. I can’t wait to come back next time I’m in Sweden.

On a sunday stroll we decided to pop in for a drink in the sun. Although it was really busy we managed to get a seat next to the water! With a beautiful view over Stockholm and perfect place to catch the sunset I definitely will be back for a longer stay, review!

This is a nice simple place on the water that has beer, coffee, some basic food… But the spot it’s at is lovely. You can also swim here. Just remember sun screen and keep close to the dock. You’ll find that you tire out a lot quicker when drunk and if you do get to a point of feeling you’re fighting to swim, swim on your back and relax for a few.

My cousin and I spent a wonderful evening here about four weeks ago. It was crazy busy, happy crowd, great selection of wines. We first got wine and sat out on the dock watching the water and. watching the storm clouds gather and… ran for cover with the crowd when it started to seriously rain. It was fun, fun, fun, even though I lost a folding chair into the water when I stood up to move farther into shelter from the rain. No problem. We moved to a more sheltered table and selected our dinner entrees at the order window. We could not pass up the pastries at the order window so we decided to have dessert first — each of us with our own pastry — while we waited for our entrees. Perfect. I’d recommend this place to anyone and I’d go back this evening if I could.

Stockholm in summer is magical. Our last evening there was made even more charming at this beautiful bar, where you can sit so close to the water on a floating platform, that one little misstep could find you in the water. It’s so close to the city, and yet could be in another world — A world where elves & gnomes live :)

This place is MAGICAL — but crazy expensive. It’s one of the absolute best spots for enjoying Swedish summer. The white-painted wooden dock bobs on the water along Kungsholmen, the sun shines down, the green plants spread throughout make it feel tropical. It’s a beautiful bar and restaurant at a beautiful location. The drinks are beautiful, too. But be warned about the prices. One cocktail will easily set you back 140kr. I always opt for the tasty strawberry-basil drink in a jar, but I usually just stick to one drink here due to the prices. It’s a great place to kick off an evening, gathering friends for a single drink, and then moving on.

This floating restaurant/bar/lounge creates a magic atmosphere during summer nights. Although the sun disappears behind the trees they have some heaters for the frozen one. Prices are fair and service too. The way to go is probably to grab one bottle of their house Rose wine to share and then find a spot on the deck. But it can be pretty hard to find a spot on a nice day. Not very centrally located or close to a metro, but if you stroll by the water, its a perfect stop on the way. And if you have a boat, you can go here and dock right outside to make a fabulous entrance. Those who dont have a boat, do better off walking here. An all day venue which can cure both dehydration and cravings right on the water!

Was here on both my first day and last day in Stockholm. Very sweet restaurant partially floating on the water. They serve mostly Swedish food; I had the skagen and köttbullar and both were very good. servers are friendly, atmosphere is relaxed and upscale. This is a pricey place though, a dish and a beer will cost you around 240 Kronor(~$ 35).

Great bar out in the open air and situated on the lake. Great selection of drinks including local style cocktails. Friendly atmosphere and social place to hang out. Doesn’t always stay open too late in the evenings and is closed during the winter, so make sure you are aware of the times!

Extremely unfriendly for people with kids. We sat down and ordered and were then told that we could not sit in the main part of the restaurant because our stroller was unsightly. The restaurant was far from full and we were surrounded by several vacant tables. The area we were told to sit was outside the restaurant on the path next to the main road. This was surprising since thus far, we’d found Stockholm to be a very child friendly city.

Great place to sit and have a drink, maybe even dessert. The view across the water is beautiful, especially on a warm day like today. Service here is almost alway very good and staff is very friendly. Well that’s the good stuff… We ordered 3 burgers and mine was like a piece of coal and my girlfriends was basically raw everywhere except 5 mm around the edges. Chips that came with the burgers arrived in large plastic containers to the restaurant and was not good at all. There’s some coleslaw with no flavor on the side and the cucumber stick was like rubber and knife was not able to cut it lol. There’s also a piece of tomato and that’s about it. Looks nice from a distance, but don’t get fooled by this. It took like less than 5 mins from we ordered until we got our food. Usually I’m pro getting my food fast, but not when I’m in restaurant, then it should take some time to prepare the food, especially when the restaurant was full. Burgers here are just boring and uneatable, avoid. Your best bet here is to stick with a glass of wine and some nuts maybe.

I finally got a chance to visit this place whose name I can’t even come close to pronouncing. Ahhh, it’s so nice! My immediate reaction upon sitting down on the furthest deck which is freely floating in the water was to proclaim to my friends«This is the greatest bar in the world». Which I got rightly laughed at for and of course, it probably isn’t. I have no idea what sort of crowd ends up here, it wasn’t that busy when we came because it wasn’t that warm but it was still amazing to sit out on the water at dusk and soak in the view. I love that there are about 5 or 6 distinctly different areas here to sit — from the closed in, glass gazeebo(which looks beautiful), to the tables on land, to the bar areas, the heated and roofed lounge and the two floating docks. It’s a fantastic design, beautifully woven into the shore and surrounding trees, grass and water. I didn’t try the food, my friend said it was a bit expensive and made no mention of the quality but I suspect it’s good. I guess the beer was above average — 66kr for a San Miguel bottle. I always get tap beer so I’m actually a little thrown off on bottle prices. I think it was 120 for a Jim&Coke. That’s a bit high but crap places like Debaser Strand charge the same. To me the experience of being out on the water, having a beer is worth the additional price. Of course you could just grab a beer and sit out on the rocks for 1⁄5 of the price but let’s not go there… I’ll return another night to try the food, or to lounge on a beautiful day, for sure!

In the summertime Mälarpaviljongen remains the stellar location for lunch, fika, cocktails or light dinner. The views are just amazing a warm summer night! A previous review I wrote was written in the early parts of their summer season, and was a visit marked by repeated subpar performances. I have however been back a couple of times this summer, and I have to give them credit for improved service and food experiences.

Cannot get enough of Malarpaviljongen! We visited Stockholm in summer 2011 and again in 2012, and we hung out here with family and friends virtually every evening on both trips. The on-the-water setting, casual atmosphere, hospitable service, nice food, and great drinks were outstanding. If we lived in Stockholm, this would be our regular place.

Highly recommend — an awesome bar on the water with pretty good cocktails. If the weather is warm(certainly not a guarantee in sthlm), this place makes for a great afternoon or pre-dinner drink.

This place is lovely: nice views out on the water front, pleasant jazz music, and nice food. It was a little chilly the day I went, and the gazibo was full, but there are plenty of heat lamps and blankets. Will def. be going back.

This is my favorite place in the world when it comes to a lunch, afternoon drinks, pre-party drinks, a snack or just having a moment where you enjoy life! It is absolutely beautiful positioned next to(and ON) the water. The restaurant are is surrounded by flowers, trees and plants which makes it an oasis in the centre of Stockholm. The Bar area itself is actually on the water, on a massive and extremely comfortable floating pier. No need to mention that the scenery is just stunning. The clientel is very mixed: gay, straight, young, old, rich, non-rich, famous, non-famous, couples, families, singles… In other words, everyone loves this place. The food feels fresh and tastes nice, they have a good selection on wine and beer as well as gorgeous cocktails. If you visit Stockholm in the summer months, this is a must!
