The place came highly recommended by Anthony Bourdain so I was more than eager to try this restaurant. I atmosphere was great up son arrival and the host was warm and welcoming as she collected out coats to hang up. Unfortunately that same courtesy wasn’t afforded on our way out the door, but they did order is a taxi. The wine was lovely and the dining room felt very comfortable. The appetizers suggested paired wonderfully with their seasonal wine selection. The food was flavored very delicately and you could tell that the menu was meticulously planned out. Everything was going wonderfully until I found a piece of glass in my main dish, the venison. None of our utensils were broken or cracked so we assumed it was from a mixing bowl. I was disappointed in the reaction, or lack thereof from the staff. My guest and I were merely offered a free desert from the waiter(it was his first day). I didn’t expect anything comped but at least an explanation from the manager or chef. I would still recommend people trying this place for its lovely food… But chew slowly. :)

The food is okay. The service it’s not. The restaurant is quite far away from the center. Actually, I think the restaurant is quite boring. I won’t be coming back, since it didn’t leave neither me –nor my boyfriend– any special feeling.

Lux made me want to move to Sweden and buy a flat on Lilla Essigen. Laid back, unpretentious, good food and good service. Lux is situated on the island of Lilla Essigen, hidden on the tip of the island and isolated from other establishments, finding Lux is half of the mystery. Once you arrive, you are instantly warmed by the atmosphere and people. Lux serves seasonal ingredients and changes its menu on a day to day basis. Luckily we had reservation on a night where they gave us free pâté! Who gives out free pâté, not to mention, it was probably the best pâté I have ever had!!! The hubs and I each started out with a wine and beer and followed with a fish and had veal and salmon as our entres, everything was cooked perfectly and we licked our plates! I will definitely be back if I am ever in Stockholm again! Thank you for Lux for an amazing experience!

A classy place with a soothing atmosphere. The owners used to run a restaurant with a Michelin star in the same locale, but they have abandoned that entire concept and now lowered the ambition and the prices slightly. Food was great but not phenomenal — the seasoning was perfect but some things were not cooked enough, others slightly too much… In that department they could do better. Service was excellent and I love that they list the farms they get their produce and meat from. I’d be happy to return.

Lux Dag för Dag follows the trend towards the affordable gastronomy, which is commendable. The food is fine and there is nothing wrong with the atmosphere. But compared to the fraîcheur of Lilla Ego, Gro and Volt, it lacks something. Enthusiasm? Previously outstanding, it now seems to enter into the populous, middle-aged, upper-middle class of Stockholm restaurants: Rolfs Kök, Le Rouge, Hjerta, Mancini, B.A.R, Grill, and many more.

Ate a three course meal here with my wife, mother and kids. The service was friendly and efficient, and all of the dishes were excellent. The location is charming and there was a good buzz in the restaurant even though we took the early(5pm) sitting. Highly recommended if you’re looking to splurge a little.
