Came here with some colleagues from China after a week of training. We didn’t have reservations. it was a Friday night, during peak times. I had a feeling we wouldn’t get in, but to our joy, they were able to arrange a table for us. I ravished a bowl of chicken risotto. It was horrible. So horrible that I proceeded to clean the bowl with the bread to finish it off. :) Probably one of the best risottos I’ve ever had. The dishwasher could have easily not washed the bowl. One of my colleagues had the same and marveled at the taste of the Risotto. It was his first time trying it. Another colleague had steak, and noted it was one of the bests he’d ever had. Definitely worth visiting in stockholm.

Grill is such a special place — tasty, well-prepared, but relatively normal modern Swedish dishes in a bizarre, tiki-bar like ambiance. Their lunch buffet is a good value for a hungry person at 120 sek — lots of delicious salads and sides to choose from, a meat dish, a seafood dish, and often a Thai dish too, plus bread and coffee, tea, and biscotti for dessert.

Maybe we visited on a bad day. The atmosphere is nice and staff friendly but we waited an hour for our meal and I had the steak(the pricier one) and it was not good. I have trouble believing that steak had been cured for 21 days… fries was bordering cold. My wifes shrimps was nuked. Hard as rocks. Sorry guys not good enough!

«Grill» — a place that deserves its name. Here you’ll walk around among glowing coal, flames and rotisseries. Word of warning: The place is just a tad bit overrated. It’s a solid 4. The dining area is divided into several sections, each with their own distinct style — like«the orient express» or «moulin rouge». So come back again, pick a different section and food and it’s a whole new experience! Sometimes they even have live music! The atmosphere is, needless to say, fantastic. This is a good place for both groups and dates. I’ve been here several times and food ranges from good to phenomenal. There’s been the scallops that were way too salty, and the order of rare meat that didn’t come out rare at all(seriously, how can a place called«Grill» fail at that?) But the waiters/hosts are extremely forthcoming and helpful, so don’t hesitate to bring up your concerns. I sent my not-so-rare steak back and got a new one that was indeed rare.

Only been here for their Sunday buffé option, which you in a pleasant manner can book whichever time you want, instead of keeping it to a certain schedule. The interior is pretty damn cool, and most probably you wont find this kind of things right out of a giant Swedish furniture bible. Depending on where you get seated, you will get a different style and experience which adds up the cool factor. Concept is easy, grab your sides and then your meat. One tip is to start off grabbing the meat, since they have quite a lot of sides and its very easy to overload. Usually 3 – 4 different meats including sausages etc. served out of pots right in front of the chef. The planning of buffe part could have been better and line for the meat section is kinda squeezed in between a pillar and the counter. But try go against the flow, and you will be just fine. One con… or maybe a pro? Is that they dont include any sweets on the buffé, so once your done feasting, you dont have to worry about squeezing a donut or two. But of course, the chosen one can order a dessert for an additional charge. I suggest to bring your next, go here for the Sunday buffé, and crave in a cool venue!

Extreme tender and well prepared rib eye, with delicious side orders and two supreme sauces. The interior, and the atmosphere is really nice and awesome with some great and funny decorations! The staff is very sweat and professional. Grill in Stockholm is highly recommendable and we will sure come back if we visit Stockholm another time!

Fantastic food. I had the veal rib, which came with some bacon, white asparagus, roasted potatoes, and a morel mushroom foam(strange at first, but seriously good). Loved the presentation as well. The meat come on a small smoker that has hot coals inside, so keeps the food warm, and gives you the opportunity to decide how well done you want the meat. I personally left the bacon on there for a while; I’ve noticed Europeans aren’t fans of crispy bacon, but you guys are missing out. It’s awesome. The place is super funky too. Crazy décor all over. Service was great, quick, and friendly. Highly recommend this place.

Summary: great main courses(beef and tuna), slow service, ok dessert Dinner with colleagues and an invited trainer/speaker, 9 pax. Reservations at 8:30. We arrived 15 minutes early and were told to wait in the bar. All but 2 got to sit in sofa and armchairs around a table. No attempt was made to offer us anything to drink. A few minutes late we were taken to our table. We got a nice and secluded table in the corner of the restaurant with a very acceptable noise level. Grill has a very special interior design which is very cosy and beautiful; kind of a personal living room. I was the only one to order a starter. I had grilled seafood Peruvian style. It was served in a bowl within a bowl of ice so I was a little bit surprised that the mini-octopi, pieces of squid and fish were quite warm. Except for the lime and cilantro I don’t really know what was so Peruvian about it, but it tasted really nice and the texture of the seafood was good, perfectly grilled. I had the top blade steak for main course. I have ordered it rare but in my opinion it was more medium rare than rare. Good bearnaise sauce and french fries. There were also other condiments like need wine gravy, potatoes and a salad, but I didn’t try them. The steak was tender and juicy. One of my colleagues had the Teppanyaki Tuna where you get to fry the tuna yourself on a lava stone. It looked awesomely delicious and I almost wished I would have had that — the deep fried sushi making condiments made me want it even more. Next time maybe. For desert I had the cheese. They were OK, four different kinds in small pieces with some really good sourdough toast and a marmalade. None of them really stood out. The waiter didn’t tell us what kind of cheese we we’re served. Service was OK, but definitely not top notch. They remembered our lactose free order but had some trouble serving the right food to the right person. We had to wait almost an hour for the main course and no excuses were made, which isn’t acceptable. They were a bit pushy on selling more wine and there was some confusion here and there. Also, not presenting the cheese is a big minus. All in all we had a great time with great food and I would definitely ho here again. If the service and waiting time improves I would consider raising the rating to figure five stars.

A mix between cosy, rad and bizarre. Armchairs, models anywhere, old lamps mix and electro music create a strange ambient in this restaurant. Anyway food is excellent. Amazing grilled Sweden beef(as tender as butter). I highly recommend the mushroom starter with garlic bread and delicious truffle sauce. A good address that requires booking every day.

I was at Grill for a lunch buffe on a weekday for a price of 110kr, which is a bit more expensive than the regular lunch price in the area. Although, I am not really a fan of buffe eating style, as you(ok, maybe it is only me) tend to over-eat and have hard time deciding what you really want and then up eating everything, which is offered that day and it is usually too big portions in the end. Apart of that, the food is goood and fresh. The buffe included five options of main courses: something with meat, some pasta variety, some vegetables, some gratin and some kind of fish; salad bar and coffee/tea with biscotti. The interior is very nice and leaves a good impressions — both tables for two and bigger companies, huge spacious rooms and smaller rooms separated with curtains, tables near huge light windows and several on the street, fresh flowers everywhere and overall fusion design with lots of details, which makes you rather curious about things, rather tiring you. Other benefit is that the restaurant is at the end of Drottninggatan, thus there are less people, no tourists, better service and food(yes, I do have superstitions about food on touristic street in the city center).

If you are a steak lover, do not visit Stockholm without dining at GRILL. It’s a quirky, but stylish restaurant with different themes of décor in eight different sections. It’s everything from Moulin Rouge to Alice in Wonderland to Marie Antoinette. The music is lounge-like, along the lines of Hotel Costes in Paris, and there’s a great bar for having that pre or post dinner cocktail. The moment you step into GRILL your nose is greeted with a smoky, sweet aroma from one of the many charcoal grills. At GRILL, they cook their steaks in a number of different methods of your choosing, including charcoal, wood over, rotisserie, flat top and others. Your nose will notice, and it smells like deliciousness! Being Americans, we often find it hard to get a top-notch quality steak while in Europe. Well, we found it here. GRILL’s steak selection offered many choices, including several steaks imported from Nebraska. We tried the NY strips. They were charcoal-grilled to perfection, and we devoured them completely. I also had a delicious Caesar salad as a starter, then fries and onion rings with the steak. All in all, I would call this a streak-dining experience that rivals the very best in the USA. Now, the only reason I didn’t give GRILL a full five-star Unilocal rating is due to the extremely-poor table service. The bar and hostess staff were amazing, but our server was absolutely terrible. If you’ve ever been to an American diner where the server was tired, bored and completely uninterested in you as a customer, that would describe our server. When we asked for recommendations from the menu, she had none. No personality, no character, just someone to take our order. When we paused with a few moment of indecision, she rolled her eyes around. No smile, no friendliness, no helpfulness. And, it goes without saying that she would disappear for extended periods of time, when we needed her most. She would come into our section, tend to a table, and then leave our section, failing to see that we were trying to get her attention. I really felt that she didn’t want to be there. What she missed out on was a big tip. I know that in Stockholm, as in many world cities, the service is included in the bill. Even still, as Americans, it’s in our nature to add an additional 20% tip. We do this for even modest service. However, we felt so ignored that we left zero. And, we felt good about it. But, back to the food. We truly recommend that everyone try GRILL if you really want an amazing steak experience. The restaurant is also fun, lively and social. The overall experience is a five Unilocal star one, as long as your server cares about you, as I am sure most of them do. We just had a bad egg this time!

My sister and I came for dinner without a reservation and we were seated quickly despite the restaurant being busy. This is probably the quirkiest restaurant I’ve ever been to. The music was trendy and the décor was interesting. There were mannequins wearing lingerie, carriages, a random shark and birds hanging from the ceiling. The complimentary bread basket was good. My sister and I shared the grill plate and all the meats were delicious! The sauces were great as well. My favorite meats were the chicken and the steak and my favorite sauces were the barbecue sauce and the saffron sauce. The grill plate comes with fries and I liked dipping them in the saffron sauce which was mayonnaise with saffron.

Grill is best described as the result of a one-night stand in between a Swedish celebrity chef and a Burlesque dancers, It might be a bastard child due an unholy union but boy it is still a love child nevertheless. Now let me start by telling you that in my opinion Grill is the steakhouse reference in Sweden. But is not only cause I upon every visit feel as I am an actor in one of my all time favorite movies Moulin Rouge. No sire, In fact the décor that can best be described as circus-ish or burlesque-ish is so far out there and in your face is not even my cup of tea. Nevertheless it still deserves a high five as it is brilliantly designed and executed in all 8 different colorful sections of the dinning area. Grill has given the Swedish well-known modesty and clean or sober design the finger and kicked it to the curbs or in the nu##! Beside the decadence described above Grill is also a promoter of guilty meaty indulgent. It tempts and hypnotize you with nicest cuts of meat grilled to perfection in a wood fired oven or rotisserie-style or over charcoal grill and with tickling tastes brought to you from every corner of the world. What say you about grilling your own Tuna table side served with deep fried maki rolls? or why not let the kitchen bring you garlic and herb marinated lamb served with a yummy potato gratin of the creaminess. Another main to surrender to is the Ribeye«Negimaki» with cashew, sesame and ginger, truly Godzill-ish flavored! I would rarely visit a steakhouse to eat anything but the mains, but if you need a starter get the Fjord salmon with fennel or Tomato“Coeur de Boeuf” with spicy chorizo. In all honesty some mains on the«ABSOLUTEGRILL» menu such as the KOBE-styled Sirloin Steak Wagyu does not offer good value for the money, you are much better off with the Australian Sirloin Steak — Clare Valley that will set you back half as much or why not order the aged/hanged locally produced Swedish cuts. The 24 days old Tenderloin is a dish to die for. However a fair warning to all you«well done» people; Do not waste your money on ordering from the«ABSOLUTEGRILL» menu, any grill temperature higher than«medium-rare» wont do these cuts justice. To Finish it all off I would recommend the White chocolate cheesecake or the unusual but ever so exciting Crème brûlée with ginger infused melon! I might not do much lunch or «all you can eat» buffets, but I’ll admit the prices are never more bang for the buck at Grill other days than at Sundays. I’ll even admit going to a steakhouse for a Friday lunch just to order south French fish stew with saffron, but it is that good for the money spend. One might ask why the grill does not deserve a 5 star ratings being as I see it as the reference for all other steakhouses, and I’ll admit it is a valid question! So here is the valid point why folks: compared to other places owned and run by celebrity chefs for instance Gordon Ramsay’s Restaurants in London, Grill does not offer as good or great value/quality ratio thus the 4 star rating.

The Grill restaurant is part of Swedish chef’s Melker Anderssons ever expanding empire of restaurants in Stockholm. The focus is bbq: ed meat, fish etc. When it opened several years ago the concept felt pretty fresh and the staff also seemed to enjoy working there. Now the food is still really good however the service has over the years become more sloppy. The restaurant is also large which sometimes makes it feel like they do not really keep track of all the guests. The prices are pretty high considering what type of food is served. They make pretty decent drinks and I like the atmosphere so it is still worth a visit. Be aware that all of the restaurants run by Melker always charge ridiculous prices for wine and beer.

Came here for my birthday dinner; we ordered burgers. Very unique décor(circus and burlesque-ish), trendy place. You should make reservations, especially on the weekend. About $ 40USD per burger – so quite expensive compared to what you can get in the States. HOWEVER, the burger was ridiculously filling and you got unlimited refills of fries. I don’t think you can get a burger that size in San Francisco. The way the burger was served was a bit odd to us… we weren’t sure how to really eat it due to the small bun and huge piece of lettuce and this salad/sauce thing? Anyway, it didn’t matter because we were completely full and satisfied. Great quality meat and cooked perfectly. Service was polite, quite, and friendly enough. We will come back again, but only for special occasion(since it’s really quite expensive). Hopefully next time, we’ll get a big grilled meat platter!

Durch die positiven Vorberichte haben wir das Grill ausprobiert und absolut nicht bereut. Selbst unter der Woche war es voll und wir hatten Glück das wir ohne Reservierung einen Tisch bekamen. Für die Ausstattung find ich keine Worte. Es sind mehrere Stile kombiniert aber keinesfalls kitschig sondern passend abgestimmt. Sogar eine Liveband spielte diesen Abend. Die Auswahl auf der Karte beeindruckt. Der Preis auch. Wir hatten die Grillplatte. Das Fleisch war ausgezeichnet und sein Geld wert. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Was für ein nettes Restaurant: äusserst charmant und kreativ eingerichtet(wir sassen in der roten Ecke, sexy Schaufensterpuppen inclusive), leckere Fleischgerichte(STEAK!) und wunderbarer Service. Englische Speisekarten verfügbar, prima Beratung. Ist halt nicht ganz preiswert(Das Filet kostet auch mal knapp 500sek, Black Angus 300 sek) aber dafür wirklich ausgezeichnet.

hochklassig, hochpreisig, individuell und einfach klasse — wer in Stockholm toll essen möchte, ist hier auf jeden Fall richtig aufgehoben. Jeder Restaurantbereich ist in einer anderen Richtung eingerichtet(von«deutsch anmutender 50er Jahre» bis«Italienische Ecke» über«Bibliothek» ist alles dabei). Wir hatten Live-Musik(Latin-Style) — das macht eine tolle Atmosphäre! Jederzeit gerne wieder. Achtung: Reservierungen im Vorfeld müssen rechtzeitig unternommen werden.

Auf das«Grill» bin ich aufmerksam geworden, als ich hier davon las. Und was bisher geschrieben wurde, kann ich durchaus bestätigen. Ich befand mich nur einen Abend in Stockholm und habe kurzfristig etwas Nettes und Entspanntes gesucht, um unkompliziert die Spesen zu verbraten. Man ist sofort von der Inneneinrichtung fasziniert, viele unterscheidliche Stilrichtungen, z.T. direkt ineinander übergehend. Man merkt auch schon, dass es sich um einen Szeneladen handelt, brechend voll mit dennoch recht unterschiedlichem Publikum — obwohl man von aussen auch locker hätte dran vorbei laufen können. Wie gesagt, von innen dafür umso auffälliger. Das Amibente, viele freundliche Bedienungen, die offenen Küchen, mittendrin die ‘Haifischbar’…, das macht Appetit auf mehr — nicht zuviel erwartet, das Essen war tatsächlich erstklassig, trotz stolzer Preise. Auch die Portionen sind i.O., d.h. das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt schon. Das Fleisch war wirklich gut, tolle Saucen dazu, leckere Beilagen. Insgesamt einer der Läden, in die man nochmal möchte, am liebsten ein paar Freunden zeigen, die man dann beim Staunen beobachten kann.

Das Grill wurde uns von unserem Schuh-Verkäufer empfohlen, den wir nach einem typischen schwedischen restaurant befragten. Nunja, typisch schwedisch ist es weniger, die Küche ist eher international ausgerichtet, aber es scheint wohl bei den Stockholmern sehr beliebt zu sein. grundsätzlich ist uns aufgefallen, dass die Restaurants z. Abendessen bereits ab 17h manchmal aufgesucht werden, die Schweden sitzen auch ziemlich lange beieinander(gesellig eben ;-) Wir waren um kurz nach 19h dort und es war jeder Platz belegt bzw. reserviert. An der Bar wurde bereits fleißig getrunken, da es wohl ein riesiges Angebot an Cocktails etc. bietet. Wir bekamen einen Tisch im Separé bis 21h. Das war zeitlich ausreichend für uns und auch etwas ruhiger als im Hauptraum. Das Personal war sehr höflich und bemüht und auch das Essen hat uns allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Auswahl der Speisen war für meinen Geschmack jedoch etwas spärlich. Aber Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt auf jeden Fall! Das Ambiente ist schon sehr nett, etwas bunt irgendwie aber interessant und man fühlt sich von der Einrichtung her wie zuhause. Das nächste Mal würde ich hier jedoch eher die Bar unsicher machen ;-)

Wir, die beste Ehefrau und ich, haben uns ein Adventwochenende in Stockholm gegönnt. Da man tagsüber nicht viel machen kann(der Tag endete so gegen 14:30 Uhr), treibt man sich eben viel in den Läden der Innenstadt herum. Dabei sind wir natürlich auch auf das Grill gestoßen. Die Einrichtung gefällt sehr. Jede Ecke hat ihren eigenen Stil: ob Italienisches Landrestaurant, barocker Spiegelsaal oder IKEA-Wohnzimmer; alles steht für sich und ist doch bunt gemischt. Da fühlt man sich gleich heimelig. Das Essen ist nun eher einfach gehalten und man konnte es schon lesen es gibt Fleisch! Dass es nun hier das beste Barbecue, das ich je gegessen habe(Zitat eines Lokalpromis an der Wand) gibt, vermag ich nicht zu bestätigen. Doch das Essen ist gut zubereitet, frisch und seinen Preis wert. Der Service ist dazu professionel, schnell und freundlich. Es empfiehlt sich auf jeden Fall zu reservieren! Geht auch sehr gut übers Internet, das Grill gehört zu einer Kette von Resaurants in Stockholm. Der Laden ist gerade sehr angesagt und gerne mal ausgebucht. Ein Besuch lohnt!

Das Grill ist genau das, was der name vermuten lässt; ein Restaurant bei dem alles auf den Grill kommt. Doch jetzt denkt bitte nicht an eine Imbissbude. Das Design des Restaurants alleine ist schon einen Bescuh wert. Das Restaurant ist so aufgeteilt, dass es eigentlich 10 komplett unterschiedlich eingerichteten Wohnzimmern ähnelt. Diese schaffe eine moderne, innovative, aber doch sehr gemütliche Athmosphäre. Das Grill ist aber nicht nur aus diesem Grund toll, denn allein wie das Essen zubereitet wird, hat mich in Staunen versetzt. Wusstet ihr, dass es 5 Arten gibt zu grillen? Ich auch nicht, aber hier wurde ich eines besseren belehrt… Ziegelofen, Rotisserie, Kamin, Holzkohle und Tischgrill sind die 5 Möglichkeiten sein Essen zu geniessen. Es gilt nicht umsonst als eines der besten Restaurants in Stockholm. Also, let’s grill.
