I am a total pasta addict. I could write odes to carbonara and sonnets for a good lasagna. So I should love this place, right? Alas… The idea is great. Pasta, pasta, pasta. And it’s not that expensive; it’s a pretty good deal. They have a decent selection and also a daily special, and they have outdoor seating. The staff are friendly. So what’s the problem? Unfortunately, the food just isn’t up to standard. I’ve eaten here three times, and each time I was satisfied, I guess, but barely. The food is filling and they have unique recipes — but the food simply isn’t great. The pasta is frequently chewy and under-cooked. There’s been something a little bit ‘off’ about each dish I’ve tried. I live very close to this place so I would stop here all the time if it were better — but somehow, this Pasta Place on the Corner doesn’t tempt the Queen of Linguine. You’re better off going to Vapiano — it’s more expensive and takes longer, but it’s worth it.

My ceasar sallad with shrimp was large and filled me up but the dressing hardly tasted like ceasar dressing. The pasta sallad contains only pasta and very little sallad. The veggie pasta was really good and I wish they had some parmesan sitting at the table, but they don’t. Ordering at the bar is efficient and suits this kind of place.
