Café Cronan

So on my last evening in Stockholm and before heading back to the dreary disgusting filth that is known as BART and worklife in general, I wanted to hit a local café.
After shooting a few long exposure shots and wandering down to the old Jewish quarters, I found a little café on a corner that looked inviting, warm and cozy. Even though the pastries display case were down to just a few items, I wanted to see what the Swedish coffee was all about.
I purchased a slice of their chocolate cake and what looked like a lemon cheese curd cake. We took the items to the window and sat at the counter directly across from the busy bar in front. The cakes in Sweden are different from French cakes in that they are denser, crumble a bit, and not as sweet or rich. The coffee here was amazing. Strong but not acidic.
Customer service and the staffpersons behind the counter were extremely kind and the big guy had an interesting accent but spoke English very well. Charming and helpful, I appreciated their level of customer service.
Perfect way to end my last day in Stockholm and I’ll be coming back the next time I’m in Gamla Stan.

My friend and i really enjoyed this place. It’s nice and quiet, a good place to talk, and the food is not bad!

Had the mushroom soup, it was very good. Came with a slice of bread. Coffe was very good. My friend had the salami and cheese sandwich, which was large. She also had a carrot cake which was excellent. The staff was friendly, and prices very reasonable.

Dieses Café haben eine Freundin und ich aus der Not heraus gefunden. Es hat ziemlich geregnet und wir brauchten Unterschlupf.
Für Stockholm sind die Preise hier echt in Ordnung — für einen sehr leckeren Café Latte zahlt man 40 SEK. Auch der Kuchen ist wirklich empfehlen. Wir hatten den Schokoladenkuchen und den Zitronen-​Käsekuchen.
Die Theke ist wirklich sehr süß gemacht. Der Rest ist gemütlich, jedoch ist der Stil etwas speziell.
Dass es hier freies WLAN gibt, ist ein netter Zusatzpunkt. :)

Great spot to come in for free wifi right in old town. No iced coffee, as swedes don’t truly have, but their «islatee» or iced late is damn good. The owners and employees speak English and are friendly. Chill place to post up and take in the touristy passerbyers.
