I spent a sunset in the bar area and wow is the view worth the bar prices! The bartender made a drink from their spring menu for me to taste, so I don’t know what it’s called, but it was a local berry with vodka and a nutmeg cream on top(yummy!). I then had a glass of champagne and the«Toast with Bleak Roe from Kalix, Sour cream and Red onion». The toast was pretty large for an appetizer and I actually used it as my light dinner for that evening. So although it’s a bit pricey, the view and service definitely make this a must-see bar!

A proper and traditional bar located at Grand Hotel serving excellent cocktails and drinks, afternoon tea and smaller dishes, Good selection of wines. A very nice meeting place with cordial and excellent service. Super nice!

This is a cool bar located inside the upscale Grand Hotel. It’s very classy but not so posh that it’s stuffy. In other words you can wear nice looking jeans and perfectly fit in OK. I just wouldn’t recommend wearing shorts or flip flops(Ha read that other Unilocaler’s review. Sucker). The large space contains a nice combination of high bar seats and low slung lounge chairs. It’s got a very relaxing atmosphere. When I visited I suspect many people were probably waiting for a table to open up in the hotel’s nearby restaurants. I hear their restaurants are sort of famous. But I walked in only for a quick drink and I was fine with that. I got to enjoy a little bit of the Grand Hotel without actually checking in the Grand Hotel. So that was cool. The bartenders were professional and not snooty at all. They made me feel fully welcomed even though they could probably tell I was a American tourist. After all I was wearing my bright Uncle Sam costume. No. Not really. I’m kidding about the costume. Lots of people were ordering champagne so that’s what I ordered as well. It’s know it’s hard to screw that up, but I say when in Rome… or in this case when in Stockholm… when in the Grand Hotel…

We stopped in upon arriving to Sweden. It was the first place walkable fron the hotel that was still serving food at close to midnight. Even after first checking Unilocal, most of the places we visited were closed outright, and for others, the kitchen was closed. We were initially worried about the dress code, as we were both in(slightly torn) jeans, one of us in flip flops, and having just come off an 18 hour flight, but the rest of the people in suits didn’t seem to mind. Swedes are just a well dressed crowd, apparently. We both felt comfortable in the crowd(although I can’t wait to shower!) Of course my phone was dead after the long flight, so I ran around finding chargers, which existed but were a bit scarce near the few open tables, so the wait staff volunteered to plug it in behind the reception desk and bring it back later. The staff were fantastic in general, bringing us chopsticks and crackers when we requested, and I did enjoy the triple helping of free bar snacks. Navigating the prices for an american is always hard in a new country, but the prices were reasonable for a fancy expensive american restaurant. As per the food. The shrimp cevice and the green rosemary olives were fantastic. The shrimp comes with salmon caviar, and the olives were a fantastic end to the meal. I might skip the mini mozzerella balls; I was unimpressed with the sauce, which tasted like sun dried tomatoes in ketchup. The drinks were great and unique. Scratch all of that. They just asked us to leave since one of us was wearing flip flops. The manager is now yelling at our waitress. Would have been 4 star, but now getting a 1. Check your shoes before you go.

Ok, it’s going to cost you, but this place can be one of the most strange and interesting places in town at times. Think of this, a drink here sets you back from 50 – 200SEK if you’re not going for anything special. So, the people who you run into here that are drunk are generally quite wealthy and strange drunks. Awkwardly removing a drunk man from a beautiful place like this one is an affair that is completely hilarious and noteworthy for anyone in life. The drinks and the desserts are completely top notch as you watch the show too. Just think of it as dinner/drinks theater. After giving a man in a tuxedo two packets of snus to hold him over one night here, I was grabbed by my cheeks and given a big kiss by him. Who would have guessed that my first kiss from a man would be from a man in a tuxedo in such a beautiful place like this, what more could a man want for a first kiss from a man? I must say that I can’t guarantee as much of a dramatic time all the time, but it’s worth a chance.

Yummy drinks. Beautiful space. Good people watching. Classic Hotel. Came here two nights in a row in October during a week in Stockholm. Both evenings were really chilly and windy fall nights. First night, I really wanted warm alcoholic beverages so the handsome bartender served up a hot toddy then glögg. Yum! I love glögg — reminds me of Christmas! Second night, I just let the handsome bartender be creative and serve me a drink that I would like.(I only do this if I am friends with the bartender!) An elderberry cocktail — dangerously delicious! Jag måste kommer tillbaka och ta med High Tea. Jag tycker om High Tea och god mat och drick.

I dined here multiple times during my stay at the Grand Hotel, and I loved it. I had a superb breakfast with the most delicious juices and I was able to sit by the window with a gorgeous view of the water and palace. I also had a beautiful(and enormous) lunch as well. There is a large list of craft cocktails that I would suggest anyone to try, and the service was superb

Had the classic brunch menu, with strawberry margarita(which was great). The english muffin with the eggs was a bit tough and they lose one star for that. The best part however was the view right across from the royal palace. Service was very good as well — relaxed and well-paced and the staff was very attentive and excellent.

Love, Love, Love… Love, Love, Love… High Tea is so adorable and such a nice ladies date… You get a 4 tiered tree of tea sandwiches and sweets — from cheesecakes to macaroons… it’s just lovely! Plus, of course, your tea! The brunch is also a winner! The traditional Swedish brunch is my favorite — you start with a basket of lovely pastries, followed by Blini’s with roe, sour cream and onion YUMMY!!! Then you get a perfectly cooked Eggs Benedict(you can select ham or salmon) and finish off with Tiramisu! They let you substitute some of the a la carte items if you wish(like the belgian waffles in place of eggs benedict! if you have a sweet tooth) finally your coffee and tea… The brunch lasted around 2 hours when all was said and done… The atmosphere is sophisticated, chic, upscale… It feels luxurious in there and at times wreaks of strong perfume! When there is not construction going on outside, there are great views of Stockholm if you ask to sit by the window… The tables are all very far apart, so it doesn’t feel like you are sharing tea with your neighbor :) Highly recommended to anyone visiting Stockholm! It’s a great way to taste traditional Swedish food — in a gourmet style!

Best cocktails you’ll find in Stockholm — thus probably all of Sweden! The cocktails are made to perfection. I once ordered a Lynchburg Lemonade(they’re awesome) which I’m prone to do everywhere. When the bartender was near finished and checked the taste successfully with a straw — he looked at it skeptically for a second as it stood seemingly finished on the counter. He then added one ice cube. He looked at it again, and added another ice cube to make it totally perfect. I think it was the best«Lynchie» I’ve ever had. They have a lot of other interesting cocktails too. Prices are premium, venue is traditionally classy.
