This place is really good specializing in a specific kind of pork rib soup that they just keep refilling. The staff and service is prompt. So cheap this is a winner.

Great simple food. Like many lunch places, not too clean. The food is fresh and pretty good. Very popular and there is often a line. Either come early or go late to miss the rush. Most of the dishes include bone in meat. This is fine, but can be a little messy to eat. Don’t be afraid to use you fingers here. It’s all part of the experience.

Song FA only allowed us to refill the soup twice and they hurried us off when we were about to finish our lunch. The ba kut Tey is not cooked properly and the pork taste lingers… The standard of ba kut teh is really not there.

Song Fa nails the peppery garlic flavour of the Bak Kut Teh and their service is rather efficient. Their fresh and cool water chestnut drink is the perfect accompaniment to the hot broth and don’t forget to order in a side dish of Yoo Tiao.

If you are in a meeting at work and look outside to discover there is a Song Fa opening next door, I think you should do a dance. This is what happened to me. Well, I admit it, I did not dance, not on the outside anyway. But, I was quite pleased. Along with aa colleague, I finally went to check it out. The service was fast and professional. Our order was quickly taken and the food arrived almost immediately. They came around to top off the broth a couple of times. It is a nice room. It has a warm feel to it. This is helped by the fact that it is full of people happily devouring bak ku teh for lunch. When we arrived, we were quickly seated. It was quite busy. We found out later that we were lucky to arrive when we did. Because, while we were enjoying our bak ku teh, a lineup had formed outside. Bak ku teh — So, what about it? Is it as good as the other Song Fa’s? I’ve only been to one other one. I am happy to say that the bak ku teh was the same yummy goodness. It is heaven in a bowl. i do not know how prices compare to other outlets. Each time I’ve been to Song Fa, someone else paid Yep, that’s right. My heaven in a bowl has been free. I will definitely be returning. I hope I am able to dodge the queues. But, if not, this is worth a little wait. It seems like such a simple dish. It is so so good though.
