Parco next NEXT

A last minute dress emergency lead me to Parco next NEXT on the advice of my Singaporean sherpa who told me they had a floor stocked with clothes from local designers.
In the space of about fifteen minutes I’d found six dresses and within thirty I was paying for two of them and on my way to the nearby ramen shop to celebrate.
Singapore is home to just about every global brand one could want but Parco next NEXT is truly unique and worth a look if you’re keen to buy local.

This place which is near the Promenade Station is a hidden enclave of local designer fashion. The second level stocks homegrown labels such as Mashup (which features colourful, eclectic prints for the fashionista), evenodd (mainly black and white sombre designs), quainthood, 20: twothree, The prices are affordable, and range from the sub hundreds, to the low hundreds to a couple of hundreds. If you are looking for design that is not ordinary and from your typical blogshop/​topshop/​typicalfashionlabels — then this is the place to go.
The reason for the lack of crowd in this multilabel store is due to the lack of marketing/​publicity by the team.

Parco Next Next is the fashion incubator area within the Parco department store. There are several stand-​alone boutiques on level 2, but only one area is dedicated to Parco Next Next shops, which are a group of local designers that Parco has identified as the new up and coming brands to look out for.
Some of the brands within the PNN area have stand alone boutiques, while the rest of them are crowded in the central area. Quite often the designers aren’t on hand to personally oversee the store, so there are several PNN staff wandering around the area who can help you if you’re interested in a particular store.
This is probably the place to go if you’re willing to pay and looking for up and coming designers which not everyone else in the world is wearing… yet. It’s not usually very crowded even on weekends, so shopping here is a relief compared to being in Orchard Road. The designers get space for about 18 months before they make way for new batches so you can be sure that designs here will always be fresh. Look out when they do clearance sales though — that’s the best time to land yourself designer pieces on the cheap!
