Well, they may serve coffee here, but never saw a cup in the 90 minutes that I was hanging out at Chinatown Complex Hawker Centet. No, what I did see was buckets upon buckets of brews being carried out to elderly locals as fast as they could drink them. Located on the upper floor of the hawker center, this beer stall’s action takes up most of the hawker center’s back section. A sea of elderly Singaporeans ordering cheap beer and flirting with cute waitresses is what you will find around the Beer Forest.(So this is what retirement is like Singapore style… come think of it, it kind of looks like the retirement I have envisioned for myself) This place is a look of fun, with great local flavor and some of the cheapest beer in town, so why not offer a higher rating? Well, the Chinatown complex is a bit rundown and I didn’t really see a lot of people eating. Also, it is in a hawker stand so things can tend to get a bit sticky. However, if you want to escape that pricey Singapore cocktail hour, this may very well be the spot for you.
