This place is very close to the hotel I stay at. There’s a great selection of delicious Chinese foods from porridge to roasted duck. Location was the main reason for me and each time I ordered something it was decent.

We ate dinner at Noodle Place Restaurant and it was good! I got Wonton Soup and he got something with beef. It was fast and tasty. Perfect for our tiring day with just the right amount of carbs.

Don’t want to travel to Hong Kong for Cantonese style Wonton Noodle Soup, then check out Noodle Place at Orchard Gateway. Their specialties are, of course, Shrimp Wanton Noodles $ 8 in Soup and $ 8.80, Roast Char Siew noodles $ 8 Soup and $ 8.5o dry, Yeung Chow Fried Rice for approximately $ 13. I wouldn’t consider the food at Noodle Place to be the best or even a good alternative to the quality of food you would get in Hong Kong, but is good enough to satisfy any Chinese Cantonese style cravings you may have. It is of note that the famous Mak’s Noodle did open at Centerpoint Orchard, just down the road. I can’t speak on behalf of Singapore joint, but if the Mak’s noodle here is as good as the one in Wellington Rd in Hong Kong. Then it might be best to head over to Mak’s noodle, even with slight price premium and an extra 30 minute wait at the queue.

craving mak’s noodles and can’t get on that short flight to HK like tzeko just did?! well, take a train to somerset MRT instead! straddled between the end of orchard gateway and the start of 313 is noodle place, relocated from centrepoint. this is clearly a more strategic and an upgrade from it’s previous obscure location which also explains it’s current persistent traffic. come early and if you are early enough, you can also catch the chef swiftly and skilfully wrap tons of wantons. big round, meat laden, shrimped and flat fish flavoured parcel for those craving mak’s wantons. not quite the same but a good replica. their braised beef brisket and tendon is also what i would come here for. five spiced and fork tender, a perfect complement to their dry al dente noodles. and if noodles aren’t your thing, then perhaps a bowl of comfort congee on that cold rainy day, like today? a plain but tasty soft watery mash of broken rice with a thicker consistency than mere runny fluids, but most importantly, topped off with choice ingredients. may i recommend the 7 treasures that the pig has to offal?! service can be patchy as they tend to be understaffed. do also check your bill for the number of pickles or towels or tea that they add, which may not reflect what you actually get. hey tzeko, da bao mak’s noodles for me, can?;)
