The York Sausage Shop

Three of my favorite words are «York,» «sausage,» and «shop,» so you didn’t have to ask me twice to stop in. It’s a tiny place in the Shambles, very clean, and smells fantastic. No seating, more like a bakery and meat counter in terms of display. The staff are very friendly and accomodating.
During your walk, I do recommend you purchase an individual sized pie. I got a yorkshire pork pie that was handmade, had a nice, flaky shell, and delicious filling. They use top ingredients and source their meat from ethical, environmentally responsible farmers.
Heck with the happenstance visit during your walk — this place is a worthy destination.
